Carmichael Development is currently working on a major project in Clarkston, Georgia. We're laying the groundwork for a new development by installing essential utilities like water, sewer, electricity, and gas. In addition, we're also performing mass grading, which involves leveling the land to create a stable foundation for buildings and infrastructure. This process helps prevent erosion and ensures the safety and longevity of the development. Carmichael Development LLC was established in 2000 by Andy Carmichael, carrying on a family legacy of construction and craftsmanship that dates back to the 1950s. Andy’s father, Mike Carmichael, was a residential home builder in the metro Atlanta area, performing his own site work as far back as 1955. The company has encapsulated three generations of Carmichael: Mike, Andy, and then Drew. As a child, Andy was inspired by his father’s creativity and dedication to his craft. Not only did he want to work with his dad whenever possible, but he envisioned a greater role in shaping the landscape of Georgia someday in the future. Over time, Andy acquired practical skills, such as operating equipment, managing crews, and turning his visions into reality. His educational journey included attending the Air Force Academy in Denver, Colorado, starting in 1983, and later returning home to Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU). Following college, Andy founded his own landscaping and construction company, Carmichael Landscaping and Construction, which he managed until the establishment of Carmichael Development. This new venture took shape after he obtained his General Contractor’s License. Upon the inception of Carmichael Development, Andy promptly immersed himself in expanding his enterprise, overseeing site work for new office parks across the metro-Atlanta area. Subsequently, Carmichael Development extended its operations to encompass site work throughout Georgia. Andy’s son, Drew, joined Carmichael Development at the age of 16 and transitioned to a full-time role after graduating from SPSU in 2015. Since then, the business has flourished, boasting a team of 185 employees. Currently, Carmichael Development continues to grow, fostering relationships not only within Georgia but also gradually expanding its presence in the southeastern region. #construction #familybusiness #carmichaeldevelopment #georgia
