For decades, #Kosovo has been caught up in a complex web of ethnic tensions, animosities, and regrettable instances of violence. Efforts towards reconciliation in such an environment have been negligible, even with a noticeable increase in support from the international community, which has allocated significant resources to foster conciliatory and cooperative dynamics within Kosovo society. Experts in the field, Ramadan Ilazi and Miodrag Marinkovic believe that "one of the main inhibitors of the lasting trust-building process in Kosovo is the absence of social consensus toward achieving reconciliation". How far have we engaged Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). Who has to start to play the ball: Government? Private sector? At Planetarium Institute we believe that CSOs can play a crucial role in the successful implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) by: 1. Promoting public awareness: #Educating citizens, businesses, and governments about AfCFTA's benefits, challenges, and implications. 2. Advocating for #inclusivetradepolicies: ensuring that AfCFTA agreements and implementation processes consider the needs and concerns of all stakeholders, particularly #marginalizedgroups. 3. Supporting capacity building: enhancing #skillsandknowledge of African businesses, especially Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), to leverage AfCFTA opportunities. 4. Facilitating #privatesectorengagement: collaborating with businesses to ensure their concerns and interests are addressed in AfCFTA implementation. 5. Monitoring and evaluating progress: tracking AfCFTA's implementation, identifying areas for improvement, and promoting #accountability. 6. Fostering regional integration: encouraging #cooperation among African countries, promoting regional integration, and addressing #nontariffbarriers. 7. Addressing social and environmental concerns: ensuring that AfCFTA implementation considers #social and #environmentalimpacts, promoting #sustainabletradepractices. 8. Providing policy input: offering expertise and recommendations to #policymakers, ensuring that CSO concerns and ideas are incorporated into AfCFTA decision-making. 9. Enhancing transparency and accountability: promoting open communication, transparency, and #accountability in AfCFTA implementation processes. 10. Empowering #marginalizedgroups: ensuring that AfCFTA benefits all stakeholders, including #women, #youth, and #marginalizedcommunities.
