🌍 Today marks a pivotal moment in aid efforts worldwide as we launch a stronger Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), placing crisis-affected individuals and communities at the forefront of our work. The updated CHS reflects more than 4,000 voices across 90 countries from crisis-affected communities and response organisations. While its essence remains unchanged, the updated CHS reemphasises the fundamental rights of those whose lives are upended by emergencies. The revised Standard is now more inclusive and accessible, with simplified language and a streamlined structure to engage a broader spectrum of actors who support those facing crisis. Thanks to the hard work over the last 2 years of all the CHS Alliance members, partners and collaborators who made this possible. We now urge all organisations working to support those in need to sign on to a Statement of Commitment to demonstrate our collective dedication to providing quality, accountable aid. 🤝✨Learn more about the stronger CHS and how to show your support: https://lnkd.in/e9rga_ch #chs #chsalliance #accountability #quality #transparency #ngo #humanitarianaid #aidwork #internationaldevelopment #development #parternships #humanitarian #verification #accessible #accountability #compliance #MakeAidWork #CoreHumanitarianStandard #DemandAccountability Sphere Standards Groupe URD HQAI - Humanitarian Quality Assurance Initiative ICVA (International Council of Voluntary Agencies) Tanya Wood William Anderson Véronique Barbelet All India Disaster Mitigation Institute Matthew Carter OBE Aninia Nadig Pierre Hauselmann Bonaventure Sokpoh Shama Mall Romain Benicchio Aydée Cecilia Marín Pallares Umut Dilara Baycılı Rita Rhayem Philip Tamminga Charlotte Dufour Charly Pierluigi Gloria Soma Christine Knudsen Christian Modino Hok Mervat Shelbaya Unni Krishnan Zeina Mohanna, PhD Claire Goudsmit Rosa Argent Steven Parkinson Walter Brill Martina Brostrom Coline Rapneau (PSEAH Manager_CPCC/PCC Coach) Sandra Fong Vivian A. Great. I always loved the CHS, as they put people, not projects at the center! I am a bit sad that the word "learning" in commitment 7 is lost. It was very powerful... But the CHS is still a fundamental tool for improving humanitarian practices, putting affected people at the centre.
Consider cultural background so as to ensure you preserve people's beliefs thus a sense of being incorporated can felt among people affect by crisis
Congratulations and proud to be associated with CHS Alliance
Acknowledging these nine commitments is just the first step. Ensuring their implementation through effective coordination is important for an effective impact. Let’s collaborate to turn these commitments into action.
As #humanitarians this is our assignment. It's a must to ensure adaptive programming to meet these standards. Thank you Laura Mosberg for sharing
