As we celebrate #WorldEnvironmentDay, we invite you to join us in two small but impactful initiatives that can make a big difference in preserving our planet's beauty and cleanliness. 💚 🌿 Did you know that over 4 million tons of dog waste is generated in the US alone every year? Dog waste that ends up improperly discarded on our streets and parks annually. Choose biodegradable poop bags and dispose of them properly: don't ever throw them on the ground. Choose sustainable pet products: when purchasing pet supplies, such as toys, bedding, and food bowls, opt for environmentally friendly and sustainable options. Look for products made from recycled materials, natural fibers, or sustainable materials. #farmina #farminapetfoods

Today, I went for a walk and saw a board that caught my attention 🚨. It said, "Don't throw wastage here" 🚫 but ironically, people were still throwing their household dust and trash in that very place! 🤯 I was disheartened to see people littering and making our surroundings dirty 🌎. The worst part is, in this wastage, there are many plastic polythene bags, packets, and other non-biodegradable items 🚮. Animals often mistake these for food and eat them, which can be fatal 🐠. It's heartbreaking to think that our thoughtless actions are destroying our wildlife 🐦. Plastic polythene bags take up to 1000 years to decompose! 🤯 Imagine the harm we're causing to our environment and our fellow creatures 🌟. I request everyone to please be mindful of their actions and keep our surroundings clean. Let's use dustbins and biodegradable bags to make our place beautiful and healthy 🌿. Together, we can make a difference and save our wildlife! 🐾 Let's join hands to keep our planet clean and green 🌱. Say no to plastic and yes to biodegradable products 🚫. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and future generations 👧. #CleanEnvironment #Responsibility #NoLittering #UseDustbins #drearth #BiodegradableBags #SaveOurWildlife #StopPlasticPollution #GoGreen

At Open Farm Pet, we understand the urgency of protecting our environment and cutting down on carbon emissions generated by plastic waste. ♻️ On this #GlobalRecyclingDay, we're proud to showcase our dedication to reducing waste and minimizing our environmental footprint. Here's what we've accomplished: 🌟 Progress in 2023 Last year, we made significant strides by transitioning 39% of our product packaging to recyclable substrates. We've been collaborating closely with our suppliers to further this initiative and have successfully moved our treat and freeze-dried raw categories into recyclable packaging. 📦 💪 Addressing the Problem + Our Goal According to the Pet Sustainability Coalition, a staggering 99% of pet food and treat packaging in North America end up in landfills annually. That's why we've committed to achieving Zero Waste to Landfill by 2025. We're focused on finding sustainable solutions for all our packaging, e-commerce materials, and supply chain components to ensure they don't contribute to landfill waste. 🌍 🚀 Setting a New Standard: As part of our commitment, we've raised the bar by launching new products only in recyclable packaging. Together, we can make a real difference and create a brighter, greener future for our pets and the planet. Ways to do away with plastic (minus the beeswax wrap, leave the bees alone)! Of course the best, most effective way to show love to the environment, is to stop eating animal products ... #Repost @thevegetitian with @get_repost so let’s talk plastic for a bit... this is a topic I’ve only recently dived into, but what I’ve come across has been startling. Humans have produced an estimated 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic since the 1950s. In fact we have produced so much of it that we actually risk permanent contamination of the planet of urgent action is not taken. Why is plastic such a problem? A number of reasons- a major one being it breaks down into tiny particles called ‘microplastics’ which basically never disappear- and are consumed by marine animals, building up in their tissues causing sickness (which humans then consume when they eat them!). Plastics are also mistaken for food by sea animals and can end up choking or suffocating them, with the plastic sometimes building up in their guts to the extent that they can no longer eat and end up starving to death. I recently watched ‘A Plastic Ocean’ on Netflix and if you want to see what a stomach full of plastic looks like, take a look! I came across this image by @ecowithem_ and thought what a great way to reduce our plastic usage... I know I’m definitely committing to reducing my plastic use as much as I can, and not just for July! . Does anyone else have any tips on how to reduce their plastic usage? . . . . . #plastic #plasticocean #recycle #reduce #reuse #reusable #vegan #vegandiet #plantfood #crueltyfree #plantpower #plantstrong #vegansofig #hownottodie #healthychoices #healthyliving #vegancommunity #superfood #wholefoods #wfpb #eatplants #eattolive #lifestyle #pollution #plasticfree #resources
