For the last six years TALON, working through organizations \(like {hashtag|\#|PropClubJax}\), private donors, and local companies, has been able to donate thousands of socks to those in need. Based on a 2023 survey the average American owns 12 pairs of shoes. In many cases that is 12 pairs more than a #child who is part of one of the many #LastMileCommunities globally has. I can make a very simple decision daily on what shoes I will wear but many don't have that #privilege. That lack of choice leads to many #disparities and #inequities. What's the way forward?  ✓ Set aside time to declutter your home, focusing on areas where excess clutter tends to accumulate, such as closets, drawers, and storage spaces. ✓ Sort and organize donated items into separate categories, ensuring they are clean, sorted, and ready for donation. ✓Gather items that are in good condition but no longer serve you, and donate them to households, local charities, or community organizations that can put them to good use. Unless your car has advanced technology that allows you to get the oil changed every 5-7,000 miles, oil changes are typically needed every 3,000 miles. For our car recipients, this means that they need to get an oil change every 3 months, at minimum, if they drive an average of 14,263 miles per year. Oil changes, among other car maintenance, can be very costly, especially for our reduced-cost repair recipients, who are low-income, wage-earners. You can help our recipients offset the costs of oil changes! Every $50 donated can help fund an oil change for a Program Car recipient or those who use our Reduced-Cost Repair Program. I read an article about short term mission trips. It was an expose and they were detailing how after a group comes into a village to build a building, create a new source of income, or simply bring in toys, food, or clothing that once that group leaves, all of it is torn down or thrown away. Why would this happen? Because there are huge exchanges of funds that are collected by local government or charitable agencies, not to mention nonprofit, non taxable donations received. The only losers in the around the table win-win game are the villagers or orphans that are exploited. There can be no end game that works. Who would donate or keep sending groups of volunteers to build buildings if the locals appeared to be well fed, well clothed, or if they already had a home or a school building? Leveling up is not good for the missions business or travel industry to these regions. #expose

It's natural to wonder whether this blood reaches those in need, and if so, whether it is provided to them free of cost. Therefore, it's crucial to verify the organization's credibility before donating.
