PRI and Basketball 🏀 Rehab How can we incorporate PRI into functional rehab? PRI is a great tool that doesn’t have to involve straws and balloons (time and place). As an example, I’ve seen quite a few basketball players with hip mobility issues such as lack of posterior glide. This lack of P glide then shows itself as sitting forward during squat patterns. This is a cool drill for athletes to bias their anterior ab wall and ‘suck’ their hip into the posterior capsule. Return to Play and Stimuli Often times, we approach basketball return to play in a manner where practice is easier and games are harder. However, this is completely dependent on the goal and injury. For example, an athlete with a hamstring strain would be better suited to practice because high speed running is lower.
