Recently, I've been swamped with requests and spotted something we need to talk about. First off, let's get why companies have referral programs. Recruiting's no walk in the park! 🚶♂️ Firms lean on their employees, hoping they'll bring in top-notch candidates. I have to give a gigantic shout out to Luciana Raleigh for giving me the best rejection letter for a job I have ever received. (The actual email is below). Not only was the email courteous, it came across as personal and truly caring. To see a company like Zapier have employees like this just solidify why this is the type of company I hope to work for in the future. I apologize to Luciana if she didn't want me to share the email but I don't think actions like this should go unnoticed. "Hi Kevin, Thanks so much for applying for the Software Engineer, Full Stack - Revenue Growth role at Zapier. We know you put a lot of effort into the application and we're really thankful for that. At this time, we aren't moving forward with your application. While your background is impressive, it's not an exact match for the team's current needs. These emails are the hardest part of the job, as narrowing the field means saying no to a lot of really quality applicants. We are, however, happy to consider you for future opportunities. Although you’re not moving forward in the process with Zapier right now, we know you have a lot to offer other companies.
