CEO & Founder Silver Talkies | Co-Author of Rethink Ageing (Penguin India) | Winner of Visa Inc's She's Next grant | Goldman Sachs 10K program NSRCEL IIM Bangalore
Some dates are always special such as today, the date when we launched Silver Talkies Club six years ago in 2018, based on the inputs from attendees of our events. They wanted to meet more often, know their co-participants better and have more fun and engaging opportunities. Hence Silver Talkies Club was born in a time and age when active ageing, loneliness and isolation among older adults were not spoken about or discussed much in our country. I was in fact told by many peers that I was playing in a small niche field. Fast forward to 2024, almost every new player in the senior care space is looking at addressing similar issues with similar models. Did we start too early or did they start too late? I think it is immaterial for as they say that all's well that ends well. What is most heartening for me is to note that in the pic below all the people who became members in 2018 are still members in 2024, with the exception of one member whom we lost a few months ago. Six years of relationship still doing strong! So we must be doing something right:) Cheers to healthy ageing! #olderadults #activeageing #seniorcare #healthyageing #anniversary
Six incredible years have flown by, and today we're celebrating a remarkable milestone - Happy 6th Anniversary to the Silver Talkies Family! A heartfelt shoutout to each and every one of our amazing members who've been with us since day one, your support and enthusiasm have been the driving force behind our journey. While we celebrate our triumphs, we also remember our dear friend and pioneer member, Arun Bhatia, whose spirit continues to inspire us every day. And a special mention to Akila Krishnakumar, our beacon of wisdom and guidance, thank you for being our mentor and advisor throughout this incredible journey. Here's to many more years of laughter, learning, and cherished memories together!

A Valentines day treat for the Applicants!!! In this matter the court had to consider whether the Respondent had complied with an arbitration award or not. This application was brought by the Applicants who had been employed part-time by the Respondent as cooks, and the Respondent would call the Applicants to work once an activity requiring their services occurs in the workplace. The Applicants received R 100 per day for their services and worked for 5 days on average in a month. The Applicants were dismissed from their posts and new employees were appointed to their positions. The Applicants reffered an unfair dismissal dispute to the CCMA and the commissioner found that their dismissal was procedurally and substantively unfair and ordered the Respondent to reinstate the Applicants to their positions on the same terms and conditions before their dismissal. The Labour Court is granted powers under section 158(1)(c)of the Labour Relations Act to make an arbitration award an order of court. The court accordingly made the CCMA arbitration award an order of court. The court in reaching this decision reasoned as follows: "The ordinary meaning of the word "reinstate" is to put the employee in the same job or position he or she occupied before their dismissal. Reinstatement is aimed at placing an employee in the position he/she would have occupied but for the unfair dismissal". The Respondent in this matter had reinstated the Applicants and did not use their services for a period of 3 months meaning they were not renumerated throughout this time. The Respondent failed to comply with the arbitration award as it no longer called the Applicants to come and offer their services as and when they were required which was the position before their dismissal. In consideration of this the court made the arbitration award an order of court and ordered cost in favour of the Applicants. Chocolates and flowers for the Applicants 😊
Great day at the office and a successful outcome for clients. Now I can fully celebrate Valentines Day. #labourlaw #employmentlawyer

2 weeks ago I celebrated my 8th anniversary at Anyline Here are some learning for everyone, who isn't sure if he/she/they is qualified enough for a job or company. My journey so far was quite a roller coaster. From a team of 15 to team of 100, from internship to leading a team. There will be never an easy, linear way within your career - but exactly this makes it exciting. These are my learnings so far from my 8 years journey: 11.2015 Internship Design & Marketing It took me 3 weeks to apply for this internship, because I didn't know anything about OCR, SDK, or the software business overall and wasn't sure if I fit. Learning: If you don’t try, you will never now. 02.2016 Product Designer After 3 months of internship, the team saw my potential and hired me. It didn’t matter that I didn’t know about our products when I started, but it did matter that I was highly motivated to learn about it and contribute to the companies success. Learning: A really good leader sees your potential and supports it. 01.2017 Brand Manager My passion was always in branding and creating awareness. With the culture we have at Anyline I talked to my team lead and I got the possibility to develop myself further. Learning: There will be no change, if you don’t speak up for yourself. 01.2019 Senior Brand Manager I started to have a small team of designers and event managers and started to do less design by myself, as I realised my strengths are within other areas. Learning: Accept your strengths & weakness. 03.2020 VP of Branding Strategy My contribution was recognised and I got a promotion to VP of Branding Strategy Learning: Resilience and loyalty will pay off (most of the time) 05.2021 VP of Strategic Partnership Due to some restructuring a new opportunity was offered to me and I decided to develop in a different direction, by leading our strategic partnerships. In this 12 months I learned so many new things, that I was a bit scared about: like working on 100 pages of legal contracts Learning: Try new things - the time is never lost as you gain new experience. 07.2022 Head of Awareness Marketing After 1 year within a new area, I realised my heart still beats for branding and creating awareness. And thankfully there was another door opening within Anyline for my next step. Learning (all of the above) - My team lead saw my strength & potential - I spoke up for myself & addressed my need - I gained new experience, which helps me in my new role - I accepted that my strengths lies within branding & awareness If you are wondering, what I'm exactly doing today, you can watch my 60 seconds video
Last week, we celebrated her 8-year Anyline anniversary. And like our company, her role and contributions to our goals have continued to evolve. This is what our own Sophie Kreuzer gets up to in a day, featured in this week's "My Job in 60 Seconds". Enjoy and join us in celebrating 8 amazing years!

It's always a party at Door No. 3! Hat tip for celebrating 30 years in business. I'm grateful to be part of writing this current chapter. From a new business perspective, it's no small feat to grow an agency. For 30 years, no less. Striking the right balance of growth is a delicate dance. Providing excellent care for your existing clients while running ahead to cultivate new clients. Building a sticky culture where top talent wants to stay while creating demand to grow the bench. Marketing for others, while also marketing for yourself. Staying heads down in the work while staying up on constantly evolving trends. You get it. Holding all of these tensions is the daily work of growth. It's the daily inputs, those little disciplines that compound over time. Keep at it today!

Last month, we celebrated our 7-year anniversary. Far from the 7-year itch, we’re actually feeling more grounded and ambitious than ever, and there’s plenty that lies ahead. So, to mark the anniversary, Jennifer Proctor shared 7 of the biggest lessons she’s learned from her time at the helm of Cultivated Entertainment. 1. Don’t Work Hard, Work Harder 2. Have Fun 3. Kindness and Patience Are Invaluable 4. Always Remember Those Who Believe In You 5. Money Isn’t The Only Thing of Value 6. Surround Yourself with People You Can Rely On 7. Don’t Forget to Smile Read the wisdom behind each lesson here!: https://lnkd.in/gga5gei5
