Following some last-minute cancellations, we have a few tickets still available for this event at RMIT this evening.
Professor Mazin Qumsiyeh is part-way through a tour of Australia speaking about issues of vital importance, not only for #Palestine, but for all humanity. The ongoing #genocide in #Gaza, which this week entered a terrible new phase with the IDF bombardment and invasion of #Rafah, which until now had largely been spared the carnage, opens the door to unimaginable levels of violence and suffering for the defenseless civilian population, most of whom are women and children.

Beyond the immediate catastrophe of Gaza, citizens of the so-called Western democracies are being sleep-walked and propagandized into World War 3. For anyone who's been following the news about the #Ukraine #Russia war in the last few days, that is no exaggeration, with #NATO countries threatening to send in troops and Russia responding by emergency live #nuclear weapons exercises. Australia is fully on-board with this agenda driven by the US and Britain. Protestors are being demonised and smeared as #antisemites because they - we - dare to raise our voices in opposition to the genocide and the rush to war. The role of the universities as a central part of a military-industrial-academic complex of 'hyper-militarisation' has and is being exposed by the student researchers at the #antigenocide and #antizionist student encampments - and we owe them all an enormous debt for this work and their courage in standing up to this terrible drive to war.
I encourage everyone to become informed about these issues and take a stand - because we are rapidly drifting to a global war that will leave no future for anyone, sustainable, green or otherwise.
A very special event, tomorrow evening!
