Tasked with the design and manufacture of a new like for like switchboard to replace an existing one built before man even stepped out on the moon can be quite a challenge, especially when asked to dodge a few curved balls along the way (just like NASA)…. Built to the latest industry standards - goes without saying. Segregation Form 4 type 7 where before there was none - tick. Match the existing footprint so original cables don’t need replacing - tick. Must be installed over existing trench without moving the cables - tick. Reduced height in order to fit through the switch room door - tick. Within the client’s CapEx budget or you don’t even win the job - obviously. Result, here’s just one of the new incomer cubicles fitted with a Schneider 1600A 4P drawout Air Circuit Breaker (ACB), which will form part of the new 10 Metre long switchboard. #switchboard #form4 #busbars #lowvoltage #IEC61439 #engineeringdesign
