Designed to provide stable illumination from 380 โ 780 nm, Thorlabsโ new Xenon Arc Light Sources generate a broad spectrum that overlaps with common filter sets for biological imaging, including fluorescence microscopy. The SLS603 and SLS605 light sources couple light from the xenon lamp into the included LLG with a ร3 mm or ร5 mm core, respectively. The ร3 mm light guide provides a beam with higher brightness, while higher total power is coupled into the ร5 mm LLG. These light sources can be controlled using the front panel LCD or remotely via USB, allowing for continuous adjustment of light and independent toggling of the shutter state.
