Is the Telco industry an attractive career option? Or is a career in Fintech, Biotech or Sustainability now more appealing? I have been asking my Telco technology clients if they are seeing the next generation of talent pursuing careers in Telco and the answer has been a firm "No" every time. The late Baby Boomers and early Gen X population are currently driving the Telco industry and that includes the technology vendors worldwide, with the very odd exception. As a recruiter, I have seen a huge number of exceptional candidates jump ship to the broader technology companies where Telco is only a tiny part of the business. I'm one of the last of the Baby Boomers and am a great believer in the value we bring to the world of work, but I fear for the future, as Telco appears to be fading as an attractive career option for the younger generations. What opportunities are you providing your next generation of leaders and how are you attracting the GenY/GenZ population into Telco? Would love to hear your thoughts and observations on this to keep Telco alive and thriving. #telcotalent #telcocareers #letsmaketelcogreatagain

The telecommunications industry, traditionally known for providing network access and control, is facing significant challenges in leading industrial innovation. Despite their historical dominance, telcos are struggling to move beyond traditional service sales and adapt to new, innovative business models. Some studies suggest that telcos are not leading industrial innovation due to the lack of a web-like application layer and inability to compete with web-based services along with customized "2B" solutions for SMB /SMEs. To overcome the challenges, telcos need to adopt open innovation and new business models, which can help them transform and remain competitive in the rapidly evolving market. #Let'sMakeTelcosGreatAgain!
