President & Chief Executive Officer at RTX

At our Annual Shareowners Meeting this morning, I outlined the remarkable opportunity ahead of us – to be the best aerospace and defense company in the world. For us, this means being recognized by our customers as a trusted partner that executes on its commitments. It means high-performing teams solving our customers’ biggest challenges. It means leveraging our CORE operating system to help drive operational excellence in terms of quality and cost. It means being the provider of differentiated technologies that create a competitive advantage. And it means converting all these attributes into best-in-class financial performance and long-term shareholder value. We have all the ingredients. The best portfolio in aerospace and defense consisting of industry-leading businesses – Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Raytheon – with a backlog of more than $200 billion. And the most innovative, talented team in aerospace and defense with an uncommon dedication to our mission to connect and protect the world. Nearly twenty years ago, I joined the company, and today, I am humbled and honored by the chance to lead this incredible organization. Together, we will write the next chapter for RTX.

Executives of the Company RTX Face Suit for Allegedly Hiding Engine Flaws Executives at an aerospace and defense conglomerate were hit with a shareholder derivative complaint that claimed quality-control issues were hidden from the public concerning the company’s geared turbofan engines. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Connecticut against nominal defendant RTX Corp., formerly known as Raytheon Technologies, It also targets board members Gregory J. Hayes,  Robert K. Ortberg,  The plaintiff, a shareholder of RTX Portia McCollum, brought the lawsuit over the board’s alleged unjust enrichment, waste of corporate assets and breach of fiduciary duty between Feb. 8, 2021, and Sept. 8, 2023. Since the alleged quality-control deficiencies were not disclosed, which exposed the company to liability, a securities class action was filed against the company, its CEO, CFO and former CFO, the complaint said. The complaint alleged that between 2015 and 2020, the engines had issues due to a flaw in the powder metal used to make some engine parts. However, the individual defendants misled the public for years, and downplayed the company’s liability once it was revealed, the complaint said.

Our engine safety record is impeccable . #Pratt&Whitneyis#1. Can't wait to see what the future holds!

Congrats! I was part of P&W when the PW1130 and DEEC were being developed at the GPD in W. Palm Beach, FL. And then years later, as the Manager of Repair Development Engineering in E. Hartford, I'm still working with gas turbine prime contractors, mostly in the Supply Chain Recovery sector. Received my MBA (nights) and started my PhD while working at Pratt. I can't think of a better or more unique aerospace legacy company to work for. Former military officer and aviator.

What an inspiring vision for the future of RTX! It's evident that you're committed to excellence in every aspect of your operations, from customer satisfaction to technological innovation to financial performance. With your impressive portfolio and dedicated team, there's no doubt that you'll continue to lead the way in the aerospace and defense industry. Here's to the exciting journey ahead and the next chapter of success for RTX!
