Did you know? Workplace Safety Posters Have Been Around Since WWII! During World War II, safety posters became popular as a way to remind workers about the importance of safety. These eye-catching posters were designed to prevent accidents and promote safe practices in factories and workplaces. Why This Matters: Visual Reminders: Safety posters serve as constant visual cues to maintain a safety-first mindset. Engagement: Creative and engaging posters can capture attention and make safety messages stick. Prevention: Regular reminders help prevent accidents and reinforce safety protocols. Please remember to place safety posters in high-traffic areas of your workplace to keep safety top of mind for everyone! 🌟 Elevate workforce safety with HiVizGard™ - where high-visibility meets protection. 🌟 Heavy objects can slide, slip, swing, and roll in work settings such as construction sites, warehouses, and maintenance facilities, posing severe threats to workers. Their impact can result in serious injuries or fatalities. According to the National Safety Council (NSC), 75% of struck-by fatalities involve heavy equipment. These accidents often occur because workers are unaware of each other, highlighting the importance of high-visibility safety apparel (HVSA) in enhancing worker visibility. Gear up your workforce with HVSA, which can have a lasting impact in reducing workplace injuries and fatalities. Fabulous work by the NSCA Foundation educating, engaging and inspiring us at their Melbourne Safety Forum. I took away learnings from each presentation: 🧠 We can expect the new regulations in psychosocial hazards will likely lead to greater fines for organisations and liability for individuals that cause harm to worker mental health – John Moran and Sam Jackson 🧠 Create an environment that sets expectations for appropriate behaviour via consistent signals for the priority of physical, psychological and social safety from the moment someone enters the place of business – Sarah Watt and Tim George 🧠 There is a need for balance between documentation of psychosocial hazard management processes and decluttering the systems so that people can address safety concerns in a practical manner as they arise – Steven Hains 🧠 People are more likely to participate in safe practices at work if they understand ‘Why’ it matters and are provided context specific examples in multiple formats to suit different learning styles eg audio, visual, written and role modelled – Aaron Malcolmson 🧠 Early intervention for worker mental health concerns regardless of the source of stress (internal or external factors), and understanding each individual is unique in their preferences to support recovery will significantly reduce costs associated with sickness absence, productivity loss, costs for injuries and time for return to work – Nancy Abdelnour and Tim Saunders Many thanks to Bernie Doyle and Andrea Young for organising another excellent event!

At #IWC, our Behaviour Based Safety #BBS is based upon three elements and how they interact to improve safety – this is our #IndustrialWaterCooling Safety Triad. * Environment - We actively improve environment and workplace conditions * Safety - We acknowledge and motivate safe workers * Behaviour - We reduce at-risk behaviours At the centre is culture and brand values which need to be aligned to ensure that a safety mindset is fostered and embodied by all staff. Brand values are the beliefs that we, as a company, stand for. They serve as a compass that guides our actions, behaviours, and decision-making process. Our culture is fostered by ensuring that we live by, and measure everything we do against our brand values. Find out more about who we are and what we do; https://lnkd.in/ejRpbfUv
