I was just doing a little historical deep dive and thought I'd share some incredible events that happened on this day - August 15, throughout history. 1. 🇮🇳1947: India gained its independence from British rule, an event marked yearly with joyous celebrations, parades, and the unfurling of the Indian flag by the Prime Minister at the Red Fort in Delhi. The non-violent resistance and civil disobedience led by figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru were pivotal in achieving this milestone. 2. 🇰🇷1945: Emperor Hirohito announced Japan's surrender in World War II on radio (an event celebrated as V-J Day -Victory over Japan), marking the end of an era and sparking the beginning of Korea's liberation from 35 years of Japanese occupation. 3. 1914:🇵🇦 The Panama Canal officially opens with the transit of the cargo ship SS Ancon. It remains one of human's greatest engineering marvels, connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and revolutionizing international maritime trade. 4. 🌘1969: The notorious Woodstock Music Festival kicked off on a dairy farm in Bethel, New York. Widely regarded as a crucial moment in popular music history and a defining event for the counterculture generation. 5. ✨1977: The Big Ear, a radio telescope operated by Ohio State University, received a radio signal from deep space, known as the "Wow! Signal," stimulating debate and research into extraterrestrial life. A greater Unity is born from “seeing” the Sacredness of all Life, as we as a humanity live on a planet and must live together to have peace while respecting differences; this is known from a transcendent reality of Soul experienced, with greater Love that flows from Within towards all life in Cosmic Understanding. 🕊- DMR
