Helping organizations get value from their IT department. IT Manager | Information Technology Manager | IT Operations Manager | IT Infrastructure Manager
Why do you want to work here? I know this is the point where I’m supposed to talk about what a personal connection I feel with the company’s brand and our shared values. The truth is, this company isn’t a household name. It isn’t making a meaningful difference in the lives of most people. Odds are, you aren’t living by the values on your website. Survey the employees and most won’t even know what the company values are. The ones that do will struggle to site examples of how they or their boss demonstrate those values. The values aren’t part of an employee evaluation criteria. If they were, many in leadership positions would be let go. The name on the building and the values posted on the website don’t mean anything. If they did, then acqusitions would include the company’s values as part of the evaluation criteria. I’ve seen the name of the company change along with the value statements and the same disfunctional leaders remain in place. Why do I want to work here? I don’t know that I do yet. That’s why we’re talking.
