SentinelOne has once again demonstrated industry-leading real world performance in the latest independent MITRE ATT&CK® Evaluation of managed security service (MSS) providers. The attack scenario in this year’s test highlights the importance of speed, visibility, and reduced noise.

This year I had the opportunity to participate in the 2024 #MITRE evaluations for #MDR Services with #SentinelOne.. The evaluation criteria not only tests how analysts respond to alerts generate by the agent, but also how they were able to pivot from such alerts and identify (and report) the findings to the customer Evaluating people and process is difficult; And whilst I think #MITRE has done a great job to come up with an overall evaluation criteria for these tests, there are certain aspects of this test that I feel, if you're solely referring to the results from the evaluation criteria, doesn't do the actual service justice. For example, an incident report should be targeted toward the target audience. Many customers of #MDR services are #SMBs that don't necessarily have their own security team, hence won't (or shouldn't) need to know the #ProcessInjection technique of malware... Or alternatively, maybe you don't need the noise of systematic agent alert updates to your inbox, but would prefer an incident summary on conclusion of investigation to contextualise the technical information. This is the power of the human element behind #MDR services It reminds me of a quote from recent RedCanary blog.. There is no "best EDR platform", but there is definitely a best EDR platform for your organisation... Maybe this is also true for MDR Services...? Regardless, I urge anyone making comparisons based off the evaluation criteria to also review the incident reports published on the MITRE page. Is the information in a readable format? Does it make sense? is there context? is it actionable for you? etc... I'm proud of the work that we achieved and published from these tests and I look forward to taking away lessons from this to incorporate into future workflows and evaluations. #SentinelOne #MDR #ManagedServices #CyberSecurity
