As a first-generation college graduate with three degrees from the University of Colorado Boulder, I've experienced firsthand the transformative power of an education at the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS). This Buffs All In Giving Day, I invite you to join me in creating a future where every student can thrive, innovate and lead. CEAS giving opportunities (bit.ly/3I1EE0D) are centered around empowering the next generation: Fostering Excellence and Innovation: With funds like the CEAS Dean's Fund and various department excellence funds, we aim to elevate our academic and research capabilities to new heights. Breaking Barriers: Through scholarships such as the Lattice Scholarship Fund for first-generation students and the Society of Women Engineers, we're committed to making engineering accessible to all. Cultivating Leadership and Diversity: The BOLD Center Excellence Fund embodies our mission to create a diverse, inclusive community where every student has a sense of belonging. Each contribution, big or small, fuels our journey towards a more inclusive, innovative and impactful future in engineering. Together, we can build a legacy of opportunity and success for Buffs yet to come. Let’s be all in, together. Your gift today is an investment in tomorrow’s leaders. #SkoBuffs #BuffsAllIn #CUEngineering #FutureLeaders #Innovation #DiversityInSTEM #CUBoulderAlumni #ForeverBuffs

I've got some big news to share today! 1) I’m moving to New York City 🇺🇲 2) We’re looking for a CEO for The School for Moral Ambition 🚀 For those who don’t know me: my name is Rutger Bregman. I’ve spent ten years in what I like to call the ‘awareness-business’: writing articles and books, giving talks and sending tweets about the many problems in this world. I’ve built up an audience, gone viral, got invited by Seth Meyers and Trevor Noah, and yet I’m plagued by a nagging feeling that I haven’t done much to make this world a better place. Not long ago, I had an idea. Imagine an alliance of ambitious idealists who think awareness is not enough. Imagine an organization that would empower small groups of pioneers to make a historic difference. Imagine a movement of builders, who take on the biggest and most neglected challenges of our time, and who will persevere until they’ve accomplished their goals. And we’ll call it: The School for Moral Ambition. This School would be founded on a simple conviction: the most ambitious people should work on the most important global problems. We need our brightest minds to make pandemics history, end factory farming, fight the tobacco industry, safeguard our democracies – and these are just a few examples. The School would craft a theory of victory to tackle such problems, and work towards concrete milestones. To attract talented people from all over the globe, 'moral ambition' should become a well-known lifestyle, just like mindfulness or minimalism. We would build a movement of people who crave more impact in their career. Then, we’d use our network to find and support the most talented individuals to switch to high impact roles, or to start promising new initiatives. A team of ambitious philanthropists would support this talent with the necessary funding. A couple of months ago, we started a pilot for the School here in my native The Netherlands. My Dutch co-founders and I began the development of our community activities, fellowships and online platform. We’ve hired our first researchers and program managers, and found our first ambassadors 🙏 . Check out our website here: moralambition.org But the Netherlands is a small country. Yes, we’ve learned a lot of valuable lessons, but the real testing ground will be the United States. So in September I am moving to NYC with my family to prepare for the international launch of the School in April 2025. In the next couple of months, we hope to find our CEO. Are you the person we’re looking for? You can find the job description here: https://lnkd.in/ekG--SuJ The deadline for applications is August 17. I look forward to getting to know you!

Look for a combination of Dharma and Artha. Dharma Represents moral duty and righteousness. It can also include being conscious of your actions, words, and thoughts, having compassion and sensitivity to others, and being aware of the divine within you. Artha Represents economic values, prosperity, and the pursuit of wealth or material advantage. It's closely tied to statecraft, which maintains the social order and prevents anarchy. At the government level, artha includes social, legal, economic, and worldly affairs.
