Is there by any chance a British independent filmmaker or production company that would be interested in collaborating with me for this? Cuz the international co-production strand of this has the rule that one of the filmmakers has to be an international person (that's me in this case, I'm from India) but the other filmmaker or production company has to be British.
I'm trying to make 2 cinema projects, and will mainly need outside funding for the second one. The first one too I would ideally have funding but I'm trying to do that as much as I can by myself with what I have (I've been searching for anyone that provides rentals for a Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12k in Delhi for DAYSSSS).
Even renting the Blackmagic Camera on its own is expensive, then I also need a pair of studio monitors to mix the music, a decent pair of Dolby headphones to mix the sound of the movie in Dolby (something I don't even know how to do yet), and a Go Pro 11 for the underwater shots. Without spoiling too much, the whole idea of this project is that it's for me and that it doesn't have to be perfect, in fact, I need it to be as raw and real as possible, but even with that I want the Blackmagic 12k camera cuz I wanna submit the film to festivals and the likes and so there's obviously a basic industry standard one has to meet that can't be met with my humble Sony Alpha ILCE 5100 haha. I'm gonna try to manage this project on my own as much as I can basically.
The second one though I WILL need funding for cuz it's really ambitious in every way. And I will need people to help me and a whole team, and professionals working on everything with the best equipment to yield the best possible thing. I actually conceptualized this one before the first one that I mentioned, in fact I really wanted to somehow quickly make the album and submit it for last year's Grammys. Heartbreakingly for me that didn't happen, but then I thought of making it a visual album. BUT due to the funding issues I pushed it to this year, and now most probably I'll be pushing to the next. And then I conceptualized the project that I talked about before cuz I wanted to do something comparatively doable, and also have a project in hand to show as "previous works."
Idk, it's extremely difficult to find opportunities, funding and equipment. I did even reach out to a few more indie production companies and producers, to help me out, given that I'm only dabbling in filmmaking recently and I haven't actually been trained in it. I've learnt everything I have on my own.
