We appreciate all the feedback we received regarding our Open Day Recruitment held at the IPAMS office in the morning of April 8, 2024 for Cabin Crew post.
We normally conduct virtual screening as practice, but this could not be done at this time due to the urgency of the requirement. While our office is fully equipped and three floors are able to hold up to 550 applicants at a time, we did not expect the sheer volume of applicants who came to apply on this day with lines reaching all the way along Aurora Blvd. up to the corner of Balete Drive. We had marshalls who ensured an orderly queueing, and our officers-in-charge sped up the processes. Although our scheduled Open Day was from 7:00 am to 11:00 am, we started as early as 6:00 am to accommodate those who lined up early, we accomplished the application process for those who received queue stubs at 11:00 am, and we extended our screening all the way to the end of the business day.
The minimum height requirement that we must adhere to is 160cm and arm reach of at least 212cm (on tiptoes), as this is the employer requirement. Every airline carrier has its own global standards, and while we wish we could have accommodated all applicants, many did not pass this first step of application as they, unfortunately, fell short of the minimum height and reach specification.
We do appreciate all the feedback we received and we take them all to heart. We shall take the necessary steps to improve and ensure a smoother application process for succeeding Open Day recruitment events, taking into account the hot Manila climate, the health/safety and potential number of applicants.
