16 mayors from 7 countries united in Siargao, Philippines for Coastal 500’s (Rare) first-ever global gathering. They visited local towns to share insights on coastal protection, social programs and climate resilience. The mayors brainstormed the future of their networks and talked about ways to inspire their peers, sustain progress and make their voices heard on national and global issues. Their journey continues at the National Coastal and Inland Fisheries Summit in Manila, where 300 Philippine mayors will address local governance challenges. Iconic Wimbledon strawberries and cream in a Notpla seaweed-coated totally sustainable and biodegradable box? Yes please. As part of this year's Wimbledon Championships Notpla are supplying their seaweed-coated boxes to Compass Group UK & Ireland, the official caterers of The Championships. Since winning the Prize, 4.4m single-use plastic units have been replaced with Notpla products, displacing the equivalent of 8.5 tonnes of plastic waste and avoiding 250 tonnes of CO2 emissions in 2023 alone.

London is the birthplace of the Earthshot Prize, and since our inception we have been discovering, spotlighting and awarding solutions from around the world. The impact our portfolio is having for their communities and for the planet is enormous and tangible, with 420,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided and 170,000 square kilometres of land and ocean protected and restored.
