This funding opportunity could assist ~ Small oil/gas operators with methane emissions monitoring. ~ Accelerate repair of methane leaks from low-producing wells and technology to reduce methane emissions from new and existing equipment.

Best bang for the climate buck! Eliminating methane emissions from the gas delivery system is not only more feasible than ever, thanks to new satellites like MethaneSAT and the targeted funding below, but it is absolutely necessary to address the lowest hanging fruit of the climate pollution challenge - methane leakage.

The Methane Emissions Reduction Program #MERP by U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a transformational program which promises to advance the mitigation of #methane in the US in a big way.   This is precisely the kind of program where ALL satellite data, from GHGSAT’s world-leading methane point source satellite data, to the #free data that will be offered by newly launched MethaneSat and upcoming Carbon Mapper, can make an enormous difference together in better understanding the scale of the challenge and help government and industry work hand-in-hand to drive #emissions reductions.   We look forward to collaborating on this amazing initiative.   #timeforaction #COP29

A recent API poll underscores the crucial role of the oil and gas industry in our economy - a belief held by 90% of voters. The study also reveals that a vast majority of voters see local production of natural gas and oil as a path to lower energy costs and increased national security.
