WAVE Charging supports the Wireless EV Charging Grant Program Act of 2023, introduced by Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) on July 13, 2023. If enacted into law, a new grant program will be created in the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to provide funding for wireless EV charging projects. This visionary legislation would stimulate a wireless charging market that WAVE Charging has led for over a decade. By balancing the EV charging playing field for a solution that has already proven to provide lower costs and range extension through hands-free charging, wireless charging has the power to revolutionize EV charging as we know it. 10 years ago, at the start of May 2014, I joined on with Wave as a Firmware Developer. Over those 10 years I've had the fortune of being part of the team that developed and deployed really exciting technology. I've attached the first couple of photos I took upon joining with Wave. At the time, we were working on getting our early 50kW system to actually deliver power consistently on this CCW-built bus at the University of Utah. We literally had to have someone sit at the charger with a laptop to control the charge process as the controls software had not been written yet. Now we have many deployed vehicles and chargers, and have delivered many gigawatt hours of charging. Our systems run autonomously, we have a great telemetry platform, and operators don't even have to think about charging. I've learned that managing people is a lot harder than writing software, but is highly enjoyable when you have a motivated, excited team. I don't know what the next 10 years will hold, but I look forward to finding out!

California's new Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) rule is changing the game for medium- and heavy-duty truck operators. Passed on April 28, 2023, this rule mandates a transition to zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs).
