(WSYR-TV) — “Glory Denied” is an opera based on true events of an American POW held prisoner the longest during the Vietnam War.

This modern-day opera presented by the Chelsea Opera is in town this Saturday and Sunday.

Leonarda Priore is the president and co-founder of the Chelsea Opera. Priore joined Bridge Street along with Peter Kendall Clark who is a baritone, playing Colonel Jim Thompson.

They shared what makes this piece so special as it has been performed twice in Chelsea Opera’s 20 year history.

It all begins on Saturday evening with a 7:30 show at Inspiration Hall on James Street and a 2 p.m. matinee follows on Sunday.
