Rory Kinnear

Rory Kinnear was born in London in 1978. After studying English at Balliol College, Oxford, he studied acting at LAMDA. 

Kinnear has performed many acclaimed roles in theatre, including Laeres and Hamlet in Hamlet, Angelo in Measure for Measure and an Oliver Award-winning performance in The Man of Mode at the National Theatre. At the National, he's also starred in The Revenger’s Tragedy, Philistines, and the theatre adaption of Burnt By the Sun, playing Mitia. In 2013, Kinnear won the Evening Standard's Best Actor Award for the second time for his title role in Othello, also winning an Olivier.

Kinnear is also well known for his portrayal of Bill Tanner in the James Bond film series alongside Daniel Craig, in Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre. He has also appeared in blockbusters such as The Imitation Game and the TV show Southcliffe.

Kinnear returned to the West End in The Threepenny Opera as Macheath at the Olivier Theatre in 2016. The following year, he played Karl Marx in Young Marx, which was the inaugural production at the Bridge Theatre. He also starred in Rufus Norris' production of Macbeth at the National Theatre alongside Anne-Marie Duff in spring 2018.
