Learning Outcomes
By the end of this class, students will be able to:
Identify the stages of the research process and define the concept of inquiry. Understand information seeking anxiety in order to accept and address it. Critically examine the field of bibliometrics and its common applications. Use open access citation indexes and open-source programming language to apply bibliometrics to a set of citations. Utilize quantitative data and statistics to review a field of study and strategize inquiry research.

Charlene V. Martoni is the Outreach Librarian for the Social Sciences at Georgia State University, where she provides research support to faculty and students studying the disciplines of political science, psychology, and sociology. She serves as library liaison to The Neuroscience Institute and the Center for Studies on Africa & Its Diaspora, and she currently represents GSU in the OpenStax Institutional Partnership Program.
