Josie Gibson has revealed she underwent a secret procedure that she has spent 'years looking into'.
The This Morning star, 39, has since shared her experience with her social media followers and admitted she wanted to be open about the experience. She said she had been "looking into it for years," before making the decision to go ahead with the procedure. Josie said: "Every time I get run down, I end up with tonsillitis.
"I ended up in hospital in December and over the years my right tonsil has been getting bigger… well no more my friends… bye bye ball bag tonsil." The former Big Brother star headed to the Healthhub in London and posted snaps from inside the clinic. She explained she opted to have laser technology instead of a full tonsillectomy.
Josie admitted her decision was due to the fact she "didn’t have space in the diary to recover from”. "I’m sharing this because I’ve been looking into it for years," she said. The presenter told her fans that she was done in 10 minutes as she shared a photo of a machine lined with a yellow substance.
She hilariously added James Blunt's hit Goodbye My Lover to her post and explained: "That’s my vaporised tonsil using laser technology." In recent weeks, Josie had been swept up in romance rumours with her ITV co-star Stephen Mulhern. They were snapped holding hands as they headed to the set of the final episode of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.
The pair were seen looking rather cosy as they held onto each other, which sparked rumours they are in a secret relationship. When questioned about the nature of their relationship by MailOnline, Josie told the publication: "I'm in love with Stephen Mulhern. There you go. But story of my life, I don't think he loves me." The pair remained tight lipped on the dating rumours until Josie declared they are simply "really good friends".
However, it didn't stop both Josie and Stephen being grilled by the rumours while on This Morning. Earlier this month, Josie presented a segment for the ITV daytime show as she shared some of the best camping equipment. However, host Ben Shephard became distracted by a mannequin. "What's that over your right shoulder?", he asked. Josie quipped: "That's my new boyfriend. He's got more personality than the last."
Ben cheekily replied: "Don't tell Stephen Mulhern, he'll be furious", as Josie exclaimed: "You two are so naughty!" In the same week, Stephen hosted a segment about online trend ASMR. He was filmed stroking bubble wrap as he said: "I'm having the time of my life." Ben asked: "Is that because he's dating one of the family? Is that what it is?" in reference to his rumoured relationship with Josie. The In For A Penny star hit back: "Oh shut your face!", as host Cat Deeley added: "We couldn't let you go without... Josie." Ben continued: "The picture says it all."
