Noel Gallagher has finally said yes to an Oasis comeback - but only as holograms.
The songwriter and guitarist, 56, was left stunned by the quality of the Abba Voyage show in London which uses avatars of the band.
The ground-breaking new technology recreates the sight of Abba in their 1970s prime, playing hits like SOS, Voulez-Vous and Lay All Your Love On me. And Noel said: "I went to see that Abba show. Have you been? It's f***ing unbelievable."
"It was great - an hour and a half gig. It was very, very impressive. I genuinely thought at one point that the people on the stage, which were holograms, were... they looked that real that I thought they were actors, like playing. The way they walk to the stage is so realistic. If you ever get the chance to go, it's well worth it."
Speaking to pal Matt Morgan for his latest podcast, he was then asked about the prospect of an Oasis hologram show - which could be based on their early live shows in 1995.
Noel replied: "I was very impressed by it to be honest but yeah, if anybody wants to do an Oasis one, give us a shout. I would be bang up for it. I'd say 'great', speak to that guy over there and then come up with a figure and then he'll relay it to me and I'll say either yes or no."
Matt questioned whether fans would be happy with the hologram show and might find it a bit "hollow". But Noel replied: "Well y'know, you never get to see the band so how much do you want it?"
Fans of Oasis have been hoping the band would reunite this year for the 30th anniversary of debut album Definitely Maybe. But it hasn't happened and instead Noel's brother Liam will tour playing songs from the album, with original Oasis guitarist Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs joining him on stage.
Noel left Oasis in August 2009, saying he could no longer work with his younger brother Liam following a series of fights. The Gallagher brothers' last live gig together was in Paris in 2009.
Formed in Manchester in 1991, Oasis had eight number one singles including Some Might Say and Don't Look Back In Anger. At their peak they played two legendary gigs at Knebworth to 250,000 fans.
Speaking in January 2023 about the prospect of a reunion as he promoting a new album by his own band Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Noel told the BBC: "You should never say never, but it would take an extraordinary set of circumstances."
