A terrifying mass brawl that broke out in the middle of a residential street saw a car being used as a weapon to run over a crowd of people.

The shocking scene was captured on film – where roughly ten men appeared to be having an altercation in broad daylight outside people’s homes in Wythenshawe, Manchester. At one point, the vehicle becomes surrounded by a group who try to attack the occupants by smashing the windscreen.

Greater Manchester Police are now investigating the incident, and believe weapons were used in the brawl but have not specified what they were. In a statement, the force said: "Officers are appealing for information following reports of a fight between two groups of people in Wythenshawe. At around 4.25pm on Sunday May 12th, were called to a disturbance on Floatshall Road, Manchester.

"It is additionally believed that a car was used to attack someone during the incident, which in total saw five people receive injuries. None are believed to be life-threatening or changing."

Two men. aged 25 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Both remain in custody for questioning while enquiries are ongoing and detectives seek further information about the incident from witnesses. Officers are especially seeking any relevant doorbell, dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage.

Detective Sergeant Craig Barry, from GMP's Manchester CID, said the incident occuring in the middle of a residential road in broad daylight was "shocking". He said: "Violence like this has no place in our community. It is shocking that some people would fight like this in broad daylight on a busy residential street - something that law abiding locals should never have to put up with.

"We are asking for anyone with information to please get in touch as we continue with our investigation - this includes any witnesses who may have seen the incident, or anyone with footage from around the time it happened.
