Coronation Street viewers tuning in on Monday night will have seen a new character called Christopher Green debut - and he's played by a familiar face.
While little is known about Bernie Winter's secret son, amid recent reports Hollyoaks actor Jacob Roberts would be joining the show, fans will definitely recognise the star. As mentioned, actor Jacob played Damon Kinsella on Hollyoaks, and he remained on the Channel 4 soap for six years, leaving in 2023.
Damon was a fan favourite amongst soap fans, but now actor Jacob has switched to a rival show. He made his first appearance as a man named Christopher Green on Monday night, who turned out to be linked to others on the soap.
Bernie was on the search for her son Zodiac who was adopted when he was a baby, and his new name was Christopher Green. Spoilers revealed Bernie would be searching for different people with this name in the hope of finding her son.
With Jacob's character being one of these people on the list, Bernie is yet to discover he is in fact her lost child. It's been revealed Christopher, who goes by the name Kit, will be brought to Weatherfield as a detective, to help with the Lauren Bolton murder case. Lauren went missing in February and is presumed dead after blood was found at her flat, along with a possible murder weapon.
Roy Cropper has been charged with her murder, while residents are keen to track down the real killer - while a body has not been found. Reports had teased that Jacob's character will have scenes with DS Swain and Craig Tinker, leaving some viewers questioning whether he would be Lauren's killer.
There was also some confusion in the reports as it was hinted he would be in scenes with Lauren, while her fate has not been revealed. Last month, a source apparently told The Sun: "Corrie bosses were really impressed with Jacob in his audition and he landed the part straight away. He's getting along really well with the cast, and will make quite the impact with viewers when he hits screens in a few weeks."
