Version 130.0beta, first offered to Beta channel users on August 6, 2024

Firefox Beta gets updated 3 times a week and as a consequence, the release notes for the Beta channel are updated continuously to reflect features that have reached sufficient maturity to benefit from community feedback and bug reports.

  • Firefox now allows translating selected text portions to different languages after a full-page translation.

  • Enable overscroll animations on Linux as the default behavior for scrollable areas.

  • Firefox now offers an easy way to try experimental features with a new Firefox Lab page in Settings.

  • Improved page load performance by allowing more resources to be downloaded simultaneously.

  • WebCryptoAPI is now supporting Curve25519 primitives (Ed25519 signatures and X25519 key generation).

  • Enabled the Web Codecs API on desktop platforms, allowing low-level access to audio and video encoders and decoders.
