Online Information and Advice sessions

Check out our free online information sessions for families of deaf children. You’ll get to ask our experts questions and join discussions with other families.  

Our sessions cover a range of topics related to all types and levels of deafness. You don't need any previous experience of the topics covered. You can join in as much or as little as you like.  

Places are limited, so booking in advance is essential.

Setting up Support for Your Child at Primary School

Find out how you can make sure your child’s needs are met at their school and what to do if they aren’t being met. We’ll share information about the Equality Act 2010 (England, Scotland and Wales), disability discrimination under SENDO in Northern Ireland, and making reasonable adjustments.

Understanding Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) 

  • Wednesday 11 September 
  • 7pm to 8.30pm 
  • Suitable for families in England with deaf children ages 0 to 16 years 

In this session, you’ll learn about special educational needs (SEN) support and EHCPs, what the difference is, and how to ask for an EHC needs assessment. Our advice and guidance officers will share top tips for getting an EHCP and explain how we can support you through the process.
