Important information about ONS surveys during a general election

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) speaks to people across the country throughout the year. The information they share with us is used anonymously to produce crucial statistics on issues like the cost of living, health, jobs, and other topics that matter to us all.

Unless people take part in these official surveys, the government and other authorities do not have accurate information to make good decisions.

At election time we continue to collect this information as usual. We are an independent non-political body and we make our statistics available to everyone.

As with all our surveys, the information we gather from you will not be shared with anyone, including the political parties. It is stored securely and only used to create official statistics that we publish via the ONS website.

It is never sold on or exploited for commercial purposes.

We thank you in advance for your continued support in our data collection work, designed to enable statistics for the public good.
