Im planning on getting my open water scuba cert in 2 weeks in Thailand. After that, I'll be coming to Exmouth. Would the navy pier dive be too difficult for me to do as a beginner, or should I go for it? How do these dive tours work, and how closely are you supervised? I've never dove before but I'm a confident swimmer, have snorkeled tons of times, and love the ocean, so I decided to do my open water cert this year in Thailand (in 2 weeks). I haven't done it yet so I have no idea if I'll actually like diving or have a rough time with it, but I think it should all be fine hopefully...Assuming that everything goes ok and I get the open water cert, would it be too ambitious to do my first actual dive as the navy pier dive? I will be in Exmouth after Thailand and I've heard that's an excellent dive! And how do these dive tours work? Am I basically on my own during the dive, swimming wherever I want in the designated area, with 1 instructor monitoring like 15 people? Or is it more individual attention based and I am following the dive instructor or something? Sorry if these questions are dumb but I haven't done any diving yet so I just dont know how it all works. I want to potentially book the Navy Pier Dive soon before it fills up. And if something goes wrong and I end up not getting the open water cert in Thailand, I will just eat the cost of the Navy Pier Dive booking :(

in need of research participants living in AUSTRALIA aged 17-25 who are environmentally conscious and/or environmentally aware for Honours dissertation project! in need of research participants living in AUSTRALIA aged 17-25 who are environmentally conscious and/or environmentally aware for Honours dissertation project!

Hi Reddit!

We are two fourth year psychology students from Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia looking for research participants to participate in our qualitative study.

What is our study about?

The threat and impacts of climate change is an ongoing issue. Changes in the environment due to environmental destruction and increased levels of carbon dioxide in the air have resulted in increased awareness and a number of emotions appearing regarding the climate crisis. Examples of certain emotions that have arisen include anxiety, guilt, fear, sadness and grief. Although there has been previous research exploring and understanding these emotions in relation to the climate crisis and environmental damage, there is little research and understanding of ecological grief amongst young adults. The current study aims to explore how ecological grief is understood and coped with among individuals aged between 17-25 who are environmentally conscious or have concern for environmental issues.

What we need from you !

The study will be conducted by interviewing participants for approximately 45-60 minutes each either online on Teams or face to face at Curtin Campus (Bentley).

If you are interested in partaking and would like to arrange a time to set up an interview and/or would like further information about the study please email (Olivia) at [email protected] or (Marina) at [email protected]

Curtin University Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) has approved this study (HRE2024-0292)

How to change my agent in WA without paying remaining management fee - need advise How to change my agent in WA without paying remaining management fee - need advise

I bought a investment property in Kambalda. We chosed the existing agent due to their low fees. This is a huge mistake. We signed a 3 year management contract. This was two years ago. Not really happy with the communication. We have to chase her up. Emails not answered and will get a response after two weeks. She approved a tenant without consulting us. We found out the tenant has a pet. She said tenant signed a annexure but weve been asking for a copy of the annexure and until now no response. We have not received our rent statement for last month and weve been calling and emailing her. Water bill from old tenants remains unpaid as well and we had to remind her. I need advice please. Thank you.

I need somewhere to go for a digital detox. I need somewhere to go for a digital detox.

Kind of just want to go out somewhere with no internet for a week. Somewhere that isn't too isolated, I would like to be able to go to get groceries and stuff. Somewhere with electricity, and at least a method to call in case something happens (whether that be cell service or otherwise).

I ask this bc I genuinely don't know how to search for this as a holiday. I've never booked my own holiday before. What search terms would I use? What am I looking for? It would be best to search for exactly what I want, but I want something to bounce off on.

Can anyone define the word “plugged” for me? Can anyone define the word “plugged” for me?

I’m reading my way through Tim Winton at the moment, and stumbled upon the phrase in his novel Breath. The exact line is

“The dog plugged around in circles, competing with Loonie for her attention.”

Googling doesn’t come up with anything useful, so I figure it must be either some old slang, or some made up “Wintonism”. Either or, I’m sure there’s no official definition. I’m familiar with referring to thongs as “pluggers” but that’s as far as my vocabulary got me.

Can someone please help me out.

Moving from eastern europe to WA, lf agricultural job Moving from eastern europe to WA, lf agricultural job

Hello there,

At the end of the year I would like to move to Western Australia. I did 1,5 years of research looking into moving. Circumstances/housing crisis/economy/politics. First I want to go for a year on a WHV, after if I like it, I would apply for the skilled worker visa.

I have Bsc. in agricultural engineering, I have been working at the world's 4th largest seed producer company for 5 years now. I am doing sunflower trials all over the country ( Hungary ). Also I spent 1 year in Cambridge, at a big cereal store ( ~150K ton of wheat capacity ) as a laboratory technician.

What do you think ? How likely is that I could find a suitable job in WA ? I would love to live in the Exmouth area ( which is unlikely to have agriculture ), so if I am being realistic South-West Aus would be the most ideal ( wheatbelt ). Or I thought about going to Queensland because of the "year around" agriculture.

Any thoughts ? Maybe someone who is working in agriculture ? I would have much easier time with jobs in New Zealand, but from far away, I prefer Aus. climate/weather more.

Eclipse 2028 Eclipse 2028

After viewing the total eclipse near my home in the United States this year, I wanted to experience another one. I'd always hoped to visit Australia someday, but now I'm making firm plans to do so in July, 2028.

While the eclipse will pass directly over Sydney, I would rather not go there because western Australia has a much better chance for clear skies. In fact, I've seen posts from citizens of Sydney lamenting that they'll probably miss out due to clouds.

I understand that travel to the west, especially the interior west, is difficult and even dangerous. After studying the path of the eclipse, I'm leaning toward going to the Mitchell Falls area. Still remote and difficult, but near the coast and somewhat close to Darwin at least.

What I'm looking for is some expert advice on how to accomplish this. Should I combine it with a nearby cruise or a guided trip in the area? I just don't know what's available. I've found one website called asnorthwest.com that has a lot of information on travel to northwest Australia, but it's all so new to me and I don't want to miss out on a cool trip idea. I don't think I can just walk into a travel agency in the U.S. and expect that they can really help me. Anyone have any advice on how I should proceed?

TLDR: I need expert travel advice for northwestern Australia.
