3 Precautions for use

Safety measure

Be sure to read the precautions described here in order to use this device safely and correctly. If you ignore the
precautions, not only may the device malfunction, but it may also result in death, personal injury, burns, electric shock,
fire, or damage to nearby devices.

Purpose of using the uninterruptible power supply

This device was developed as an uninterruptible power supply designed for use in general office environments. Never use it for the following

purposes and load equipment. (1) Use in medical devices that directly affect human life (devices for operating rooms, artificial dialysis machines,

incubators, etc.) (2) Use in aircraft and trains that can lead to personal injury (3) Vehicles that are directly subjected to vibration and shock Use in

vessels, etc. (4) Use in socially and publicly important computer systems, etc. (5) Use in devices equivalent to these

(6) Equipment that converts AC power into DC that is half-wave rectified and used (heater temperature control device, etc.)

The potential risk here refers to the effect on the human body/life that can be considered due to the nature of this device. This device has

Effect of electromagnetic waves emitted from the device

Not only this device but also general computers, etc. radiate electromagnetic waves from the device due to its operating principle. With current
technology, it is not possible to completely remove the electromagnetic waves emitted from the device. In particular, if this device is used near a
machine that is remote controlled by radio waves, it may cause malfunction of the device. When using this device near such equipment, it is
necessary to take measures such as electromagnetic shielding.

Precautions for use and handling

Please read this manual carefully and make sure that you do not use it incorrectly. If you feel "dangerous," stop the output with the off

button on the front panel of the equipment, and then unplug the input power cord from the outlet. If the input distribution panel breaker is turned

off or the input power cord is disconnected without stopping the output with the OFF button, the backup operation state is the same as a power

failure, and the power stored in the internal battery is consumed.

In this case, please be aware that the expected backup operation time cannot be secured at the time of actual power failure.

Handling precautions

Danger

• Do not use in locations where flammable gas or flammable substances are present. There is a risk of

igniting and exploding these substances in the event of a spark.

• Do not put the battery of this device in a fire. There is a risk of explosion or explosion.

• Do not disassemble, repair, or modify this device. Disassembling, repairing or modifying

it may cause malfunction or may cause electric shock or fire.

Note

• When cleaning this equipment, you may receive an electric shock. Stop output with the OFF button on the front

panel of this equipment, stop the UPS, and then disconnect the input power plug.

• Before connecting or disconnecting the input power plug, hold the plug part after stopping output with

the OFF button on the front panel of this device. Pulling the cord may damage it and cause fire or

electric shock.

• Do not insert or remove the input power plug with wet hands. You may get an electric shock.

• If you hear thunder, do not touch the device including cables. You may get an electric shock

during a lightning strike.

• For safety, this equipment requires grounding work of class D or more (ground resistance 100Ω or less). If you do not

perform grounding work, you may receive an electric shock.

• Do not share the ground wire of the outlet to which the input power cord of this device is connected with the ground

wire of a device that consumes a large amount of power. It may cause malfunction or failure.

• Do not block the intake and exhaust ports of this device. If the temperature inside the device becomes abnormally

high, not only may malfunction or failure occur, but it may also cause a fire.

• Do not leave this device in a place where it is exposed to direct sunlight or heat from a heating device. It may

cause a fire due to failure, damage or deterioration due to heat.

• Do not wire octopus. The outlet may overheat and cause a fire.

• Do not install the power cord away from an outlet that requires an extension cord to connect
to it. If you use a power cord that does not meet the power specifications of this device, the
power cord may overheat and cause a fire.

• If this device is used with a voltage or frequency other than the rated value, it may malfunction, resulting in fire or

electric shock.

• Do not forcibly bend or bundle the cables connected to this device, do not put anything on
them, or pinch them. The cable may be damaged, resulting in electric shock or fire.

• Do not use the cables if they are incompletely connected. Short circuit or overheating may cause
electric shock or fire.
• Do not wet the outlet, cables, and the connector on the back of this device with water. It may
cause electric shock or fire.
• Do not insert foreign matter into this device. If foreign objects such as metals or flammable materials enter, the

internal parts may short-circuit, resulting in electric shock or fire. If a foreign object should enter, stop the

output with the OFF button on the front panel of this device, stop the UPS, unplug the power cord, and contact

the shop where you purchased the product.

• Do not install this device in a dusty place. Dust may accumulate and short-circuit internal
parts, resulting in electric shock or fire.
• Do not use in locations subject to salt or corrosive gases. The internal parts may short-circuit or
deteriorate, resulting in electric shock or fire.

• This device is heavy. When lifting the device, be sure to carry it firmly. If you lift it too hard,

you may hurt your back or you may be injured by dropping it. Please work with two or more

people.

• Do not get on or put anything on this device. It may fall, fall, or break resulting in
injury.
• Do not install this device in an unstable place. The device may fall over and injure
you.

• If an abnormal noise, odor, or abnormality occurs while using this device, immediately stop the output

with the off button on the front panel of this device, and then unplug the power cord from the outlet.

4 Notes on maintenance

Battery replacement and disposal

This device uses a battery to support short-term power outages. Since lead acid and dilute sulfuric acid are
used in the battery, please be careful about the following points.

Note
• The battery should be replaced within 3 to 4.5 years of normal use (at 25°C operating temperature). Replace it regularly. If

the operating temperature is 25°C or higher and the number of discharges is large, the life will be shortened, so it is

recommended that you replace it as soon as possible.

Battery replacement cycle

The life of the storage battery varies greatly depending on the installation environment of the UPS. For safe use, replace

it based on the operating environment.

The battery life display is based on the user's guideline (JEM-TR204: 2001).

• If the battery is used for a long time without being replaced, it may leak due to deterioration of the

battery container. The leaked liquid contains sulfuric acid, which may cause smoke or fire. Also, if

the leaked liquid gets on your skin or gets in your eyes, you may get burned or lose your

eyesight. If it gets on your skin or gets in your eyes, immediately wash it under running water and

consult a doctor.

The battery is designated as "Specially controlled industrial waste" by the "Waste Disposal and Cleaning Law", so it is not
possible to dispose of the battery unnecessarily. Please contact the store where you purchased the product.

To have you perform a safe replacement work, a person with experience and knowledge of electric work should carry out the battery
replacement work. Before replacing the battery, read this manual thoroughly and understand the safety precautions before starting the work.

Prohibition of modification and repair of this device

Caution

• The inside of this device has a high-voltage part, etc., and if a person other than maintenance personnel

performs battery replacement work or repairs or opens the cover of this device, it is not only covered by the

Chapter 1

Overview

DL9126 Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) protect sensitive electronic devices from power failures such as power failures, voltage sags,

voltage surges, brownouts, overvoltages, utility power noise, frequency fluctuations, switching noise, and harmonic distortion.

Blackouts and unstable power states occur unexpectedly. Such a power failure can destroy important data,
lose unsaved work, and damage hardware. The result is hours of lost productivity and high remediation
costs.

Installation

2-1 Checking the equipment

After unpacking the UPS, make sure that all accessories are included and that the main unit and accessories are not

damaged.

If the UPS appears to have been damaged in transit, please retain the original packaging and shipping materials and
contact the place of purchase.

2-2 Before installing

When installing the UPS, please choose a comfortable place for installation.
Install the device on a flat surface. Please avoid the following locations.

・Outdoor

・A place exposed to direct sunlight

・High temperature and high humidity (In consideration of battery life, the ambient temperature is 10 to 25℃.

It is recommended to manage within the range)

-Locations subject to strong vibrations and

shocks-Locations where salt and corrosive gas are

generated-Sealed room without ventilation openings-

Locations that are tilted (not horizontal)

-Near the radio (noise may be mixed in with the radio)-Dusty or dusty place

When installing the UPS, secure the surrounding space according to the following. Since it may affect the
CRT display such as screen shaking, install it at least 30 cm away from this device.

This device uses forced air cooling. The inlet (front) and exhaust (rear) must have a space of 20 cm or more. Also, the

maintenance area requires 1m in the front and 20cm on the left and right.

2-3 UPS installation

The DL9126 is designed for flexible installation and offers the accessories you need for rackmount or tower
installation. (Refer to Table 9 in Chapter 7)

(1) Rack mount installation method

The DL9126 can be installed in a 19-inch rack, consuming only 2U of valuable rack space. It can be fixed
to a 19-inch rack using the rack mounting bracket (flange).

NOTE ・ The mounting rails and screws that secure the UPS to the frame are included with the DL9126 UPS.

Prepare a dedicated rack for your 19-inch rack.

Follow the steps below to install the UPS in the rack.

1. With the front of the UPS facing you, place it on a flat, stable surface.
2. Attach the handle to the two flanges with the long flat head screws attached as accessories.
3. Secure the flange with the handle to the side of the UPS with the included flat-head screw. (See
Figure 3)
4. If installing the optional EBM, repeat steps 1-3.

 Note-Install the EBM at the bottom of the UPS when rack-mounted as shown in Fig. 4.
Also, use a mounting rail for each EBM.

5. Slide the UPS and optional EBM into the rack. To secure the UPS to the rack, fix the UPS
flange to the rack frame with the screw (provided by the customer). To complete the
installation, go to “(4) UPS Wiring” on page 10.

(2) Cabinet installation method
The UPS body can be installed horizontally or vertically. For horizontal installation, place the EBM under
the UPS as shown in Figures 5 and 7. See Figures 6 and 7 for vertical installation.

 1. If you are installing the optional EBM, go to step 2. If you want to install only the UPS
body, start from step 5.
2. Unscrew the adjacent corners of the UPS and EBM rear panels as shown in Figure 7 (remove the screws on
both sides of the adjacent corners).
3. Use the stabilizer and hexagonal screw with washer shown in Fig. 7 attached to the EBM to fix it.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to install another EBM.

5. Proceed to “(4) UPS wiring” on page 10.

NOTE ・When using EBM, change the EBM connection number setting in Chapter 4 4-1-1.
Please give me. If it is not set correctly, it may affect the actual discharge time or the estimated
discharge time.
-If you also use the EBM and the power management software (Power Sol), set the "shutdown
timing" in the Power Sol settings according to the operating mode. If you use it with the
factory settings, the expected back-up time may not be secured.

(3) Tower installation

When installing the UPS alone, attach the tower installation pedestal to the bottom of the main unit. Place the UPS horizontally so that

you can work on the left edge of the equipment.

NOTE ・Be sure to install the pedestal when installing the UPS vertically.

Slide the pedestal onto the edge of the equipment to evenly distribute the weight of the UPS (see Figure
8).
Furthermore, fix the pedestal (base) to the main body with the accessory flat head screws that are included as accessories.

Carefully place the device on a stable surface (see Figure 9). Proceed to “(4) UPS
wiring”.

 (4) UPS wiring
The next step is to wire the UPS. Figure 10 shows the general wiring method only. Refer to 2-4 “UPS rear
panel” for the rear panel configuration.

Note

・ A small amount of arcing can occur when connecting the EBM to the UPS. Firmly insert the EBM
cable into the additional battery connector of the UPS. Do not work with wet hands. You may get
an electric shock.

Note-Please do not make any unwarranted changes or modifications to the UPS. If you do, the equipment will fail and you will be warranted.

1. If installing the optional EBM, plug the EBM cable into the additional battery connector on the UPS rear
panel (see Figure 10). If you are not using EBM, go to step 3.

2. If you want to install more EBM, plug the second EBM cable into the extension battery connector of the
first EBM.

 3. When controlling the UPS with the power management software, connect the computer to the UPS communication port using
the attached communication cable.
For the installation method, please read the "Installation Manual" attached to the CD-ROM.

4. Plug the input power cord of the device to be protected by UPS into the outlet on the back of UPS.

NOTE ・Laser printers consume a very high amount of power during operation, which may exceed the capacity of the UPS.

May occur and the UPS may malfunction. Do not connect the laser printer to the output.

Note ・If you are using the load segment function, please refer to the load segment control and assignment method.

See page 32.

5. Plug the UPS power cord into a wall outlet or power supply. The front panel display will flash for a moment and the
UPS will perform a self-test.
When the self-test is complete, the front panel will show the standby mode (ready to start) ( ~ The
display will blink). When flashes, an error has been detected. See Table 9 on page 36.

6. The installation is now complete. Refer to “Operation” on page 13 for how to operate the UPS. To
change the factory default settings, see "Option Settings" on page 119.

Note ・After charging starts, charge for about 5 hours. (When using the UPS alone).
However, we recommend that you charge the UPS for 24 hours after initial installation or after long-term

storage. Simply plug the UPS's input power cord into an outlet to start charging the battery.

3-1 Operating mode

The DL9126 displays UPS status via LEDs on the front panel. Figure 13 shows the UPS front panel
display and operation buttons.

 (1) UPS commercial operation

While the UPS is operating on power from the commercial input, ~ The display will illuminate and the bar graph display on the

front panel will show the percentage of UPS load capacity being consumed by the connected equipment (see Figure 14).

The UPS keeps the battery up to date and recharges it as needed to prepare for battery operation.

The LED will not light if the UPS load is less than about 10%. The bar graph expresses a 25% increment or decrement with

respect to the rated capacity.

If the UPS load exceeds 100%, the display will blink, indicating that the load has exceeded the UPS
capacity. See Table 8 in Chapter 8 on page 36 for details.

(2) Battery operation
When a power failure occurs, the UPS will switch to battery operation if backup operation is possible, and an alarm will sound

once every two seconds. At the same time, the display lights up. The front panel bar graph shows the approximate remaining

battery capacity as a percentage (see Figure 15). When the input power returns to normal, the UPS will start charging the

battery as soon as it returns to commercial operation.

When the battery capacity decreases during battery operation and the second bar graph display flashes, it indicates
that about 3 minutes of battery operation time remains. When the shut down is approaching, the first bar graph
display will blink.

NOTE ・The remaining battery capacity depends on the UPS load.

A warning may occur 3 minutes before reaching 25%. The front panel will then display a 3
minute warning. See Chapter 7, Table 8 on page 34 for UPS and extra battery module
backup times.

NOTE-These warnings are approximate and the actual time to shutdown is large.
It may change. When these warnings are displayed, immediately finish the work and save the data
to avoid problems such as data loss. After the UPS is shut down, the UPS will restart automatically
when the input power is restored.

 (3) Bypass power supply

In the event of UPS overload or internal failure, the UPS will be bypass powered. An alarm sounds
and the display lights. Switches to bypass mode in the following cases.

-When the temperature inside the UPS becomes abnormal.

・When the UPS is overloaded by 101 to 110% for about 2 minutes. ・When the UPS
is overloaded by 111 to 150% for about 30 seconds. -When the UPS detects a battery
or internal UPS failure.

(4) Standby mode (standby mode)

The UPS will enter standby mode when the input power cord is plugged into a wall outlet or other power
source or the UPS output is turned off. At this time, UPS operation LED on the front panel ~ Blinks. In standby
mode the battery is charged as needed. Also, the bar graph display is off and power is not being supplied from
the rear outlet.

(5) Power share mode

When the input power of the UPS is temporarily insufficient for the output power of UPS, it is the mode to supply the
shortage by using the energy stored in the built-in battery. However, this function does not work during bypass
operation.
The power share mode is an emergency mode when the rating of the UPS is temporarily exceeded due to a temporary decrease in the input

voltage to the UPS or a momentary increase in the output power of the UPS. The mode status can be confirmed by the LED display on the

front panel.

Note-If the power share mode occurs frequently, the capacity of the UPS input power supply is insufficient.

Or the output power of the UPS may be higher than the UPS rating. Under such conditions, the energy
stored in the battery will be consumed, and it will not be possible to secure sufficient backup time during a
power failure.
In addition, frequent charging and discharging will shorten the battery life. We recommend that
you do not continue to use in that state.

3-2 UPS start/stop

(1) Startup of UPS

After connecting to power, the UPS will be in standby mode. To power the device from the UPS, press the
on button.

NOTE ・If the previous UPS shutdown was not stopped by pressing the OFF button (see
If the UPS is shut down due to shutdown operation or shutdown setting or discharge end), commercial power will

automatically start when the input power is connected (recovered) to the UPS, and power will be supplied to the equipment.

(2) UPS battery start

NOTE-Before using this function, the UPS must be powered by the input power source at least once.

The battery must be charged.

NOTE-Do not connect the UPS input power cord to the UPS output outlet. About 2 minutes

To start the UPS with no input power, press and hold the On button for about 4 seconds. The UPS powers
the load and runs on battery.

(3) UPS shutdown

To turn off the UPS, press the off button on the front panel. The UPS will be in standby mode. Then unplug
the UPS input power cord plug from the power source. The UPS will shut down after 5 seconds. If you do
not unplug the UPS input power cord, it will remain in standby mode.

If the Off button is pressed while the UPS is on battery, the UPS will shut down in 5 seconds.

 (4) Self test

Press and hold the button for 3 seconds while the UPS is running to start the battery self-test. If pressed
during the self-testable period, the battery will be discharged with a load of at least 40%. If pressed outside the
self-testable period, the UPS will start to charge, and after 24 to 27 hours, the battery will be discharged when
the load is at least 40% or more. During the test for about 2 minutes, the bar graph display on the UPS
operation panel lights from left to right one by one and repeats. If the UPS finds something wrong, it will blink
the LED. The timing chart is as follows.

• The self-test is performed after the battery charging operation. It is not executed when the UPS is operating on
battery.
• If the self-test cannot be executed, the self-test reservation status is entered and the self-test LED blinks. If you press

and hold the button for 3 seconds in this state, the self-test reservation will be cancelled.

• If the conditions are not met, it will be canceled automatically 48 hours after the completion of quick charging.
• Canceled during power failure during self-test or during self-test reservation.
• If the UPS is faulty, it will not be self-tested.
• In addition to the self-test, automatic battery deterioration judgment is performed. If an abnormality is found by automatic
deterioration judgment, the LED will blink.

• Quick charge is started by commercial operation, pressing the button for 3 seconds, and starting cycle charge by battery
management.

Chapter 4

Option setting

This section describes how to reset various options in configuration mode. The options are

(1) Setting the number of external extension battery (EBM) connected (2)

REPO and remote ON/OFF setting

4-1 Setting mode

When the UPS is in configuration mode, the bar graph will display the contents of the options currently set.
The control buttons (on button and button) are used to change option settings. Figure 16 shows the front
panel used in configuration mode, Table 16-1 ~ 16-5 The applicable options are explained in.

Note ・It can be set even when the UPS is in battery operation. However, the UPS

Note-By changing the setting of rated input voltage, the rated output voltage also changes.

rated input voltage setting, for DL9126 1200jL and DL9126 1500jL, either 100V/110V/120V is
selected.

Selecting one of the voltage options will disable the other two voltage settings. You can switch
between rated input voltage options by making a selection.

To change the "Settings", pull out the UPS power input plug to stop the UPS completely. After that, it will
become effective by restarting UPS.

5-1 Handling of UPS and battery

The best preventative maintenance method is to keep the area around the UPS clean and dust free. If the air is
very dusty, clean the outside of the system with a vacuum cleaner. Battery life is affected by temperature. Keep
the ambient temperature of the UPS below 25°C.

NOTE ・If dust is adhering to the intake port of the UPS front panel,
Please remove dust with a vacuum cleaner etc. Clogged air intake may cause abnormal heat generation
inside the UPS or shorten the life of the UPS.

5-2 Store UPS and battery

When storing the UPS for a long time, recharge the battery by plugging the UPS into a power outlet every 6 months.
The UPS charges the battery at a constant voltage for about 5 hours. However, after long-term storage, please charge
the UPS for 24 hours before use.

5-3 Battery replacement period

When the display lights on the front panel, it is time to replace the battery. The battery needs to be replaced, so

please consult the store where you purchased the product. (The expiration date of the battery is displayed on the

real panel.)

 The battery has a life. The ABM function of this device allows the battery to be used efficiently, but the life of the battery varies greatly

depending on the operating temperature conditions, the number of discharges and time. The expected life of the battery depending on

the operating temperature environment is as follows. It is recommended to replace it as soon as possible for preventive maintenance.

5-4 Replacing the battery

(1) Replacement of internal battery

For replacement of the internal battery, please contact your dealer.

(2) Replacement of additional battery module (EBM)

Follow the procedure below to replace the EBM.
1. Unplug the EBM connector from the UPS and disconnect the old EBM. Refer to Section 5-6
“Recycling Used Batteries” for correct disposal.
2. Plug the new EBM's cable into the UPS's extra battery connector as shown in Figure 10 on page 10.

3. To add more EBM, plug the cable of the second EBM into the extension battery connector of the first
EBM.

To replace the battery in a system that uses the EBM, do not remove the battery inside the EBM and replace the
EBM itself.

NOTE ・When replacing the EBM or adding an EBM, be sure to use all the batteries that are already in use.

Replace it, and also replace the battery inside the main unit. If a new battery and an old battery are used in
combination, the battery life will be affected by the old battery and the expected life of the new battery will be
shortened. I will.

5-5 Testing new battery

After connecting to the utility power, press and hold the button for 3 seconds to start the self-test. The
display disappears after the test is complete. If the display remains lit, check the battery connections. If the
problem persists, please refer to the troubleshooting guide or contact the store where you purchased the

5-6 Recycling used batteries

For the proper disposal of used batteries, read "4-Precautions for maintenance" carefully and contact
the retailer where you purchased the product.

-Do not short-circuit or disassemble the battery. There is a risk of electric shock or injury such as
burns.
・The electrolyte of the battery is poisonous and it is dangerous to touch the skin or eyes. If you should touch it, wash it off

immediately.

NOTE ・Batteries are defined as "Specially Controlled Industrial Disposal" in the "Waste Disposal and Cleaning Law".

Since it is designated as a "thing," the battery cannot be discarded unnecessarily. Please contact your
guardian or retailer.

6-1 X-slot communication function

The X-slot allows the UPS to communicate with different network environments and different types of
equipment. The following cards are available for DL9126:

The DL9126 comes standard with a standard communication card when shipped from the factory. To establish communication

between the UPS and computer, use the included communication cable to connect to the RS232C and UPS communication ports

on your computer.

 A communication cable connection allows the power management software to exchange data with the
UPS. This software polls the UPS for power status information. In case of a power failure, the software will
request the OS to shut down, then shut down the devices in order.

Figure 19 shows the pin layout of the communication port of the communication card, and Table 2 describes the pin functions. The contact

specifications of the open collector output signal are 24VDC, 20mA max.

6-2 Internal failure notification signal setting method

An internal fault notification signal can be used by changing the setting of the jumper pin on the standard

communication card. The factory setting is disabled.

1. Touch one hand on the rear panel of the UPS to prevent static electricity. 2. Remove the standard

communication card on the rear panel of the UPS.

Do not lose the screws. (See Figure 20)

6-3 REPO

DL9126 Has a REPO port that allows you to remotely disconnect the UPS output outlet from a
customer-provided switch.
REPO operation shuts down the connected equipment immediately and does not follow sequential shutdown
by the power management software. The REPO operation during battery operation will immediately shut down
the connected equipment as well as the UPS itself.

The UPS remains in standby mode when the REPO switch is opened. The UPS will not power connected
equipment until you press the On button to restart.

• REPO port is an isolated, normally open contact rated up to 60Vdc, up to 30Vac RMS, up to 20mA

 Follow the steps below to install the REPO switch.
1. Remove the REPO connector from the REPO port on the rear panel.
2. Connect the isolated, normally open contacts to pins 1 and 2 of the REPO connector (see Figure 22). Standard
unshielded twisted pair wire, size 18-22AWG (0.3mm 2 – 0.9 mm 2 ) Should be used.

3. Connect the REPO connector to the REPO port on the UPS rear panel.

4. The remote switch provided by the customer is turned off to supply power from the output outlet.
Please confirm that it is in a state.

6-4 Remote ON/OFF

The REPO port is set to the REPO function by default. To enable the remote ON/OFF function, refer to
Chapter 4, "Option settings". With the remote ON/OFF function, the power of the UPS output outlet can be
turned ON/OFF from a switch provided by the customer at a remote location.

At this time, output ON/OFF by the ON and OFF buttons on the front panel will be disabled and will not
function.
The load segment control by the remote ON/OFF function follows the rules set by the power management
software as well as ON/OFF on the operation panel.

By default, when the remote ON/OFF function is enabled, the UPS is started by opening the REPO port
and stopped by closing it.
For how to install the remote ON/OFF switch, refer to "How to install the REPO switch".

NOTE ・Replace the REPO connector with the UPS stopped and the input power cord disconnected.

Make sure the remote switch is open before inserting it into the main unit. If you need to install
the REPO connector during UPS operation (while supplying power to the output), check that the
remote switch is open and then insert the REPO connector into the main unit. (UPS may stop)

6-5 Network protector (NTP)
A network protector (NTP) on the UPS rear panel protects your modem, fax machine, and other network
communications equipment from surges. The socket fits a single RJ-45 (10Base-T, 100Base-TX) network
connector or RJ-11 phone connector. However, this protector is not recommended for use in a digital PBX. As
shown in Figure 23, the network protector has IN and OUT. The IN and OUT placement is illustrated on the rear
panel placement label on the top of the unit. Connect the connector that was connected to the input of the device
to be protected to the socket marked IN. Connect the socket marked OUT with the input of the device to be
protected.

6-6 Load segment control

The load segment is a group of outlets controlled by the power management software that provides
scheduled shutdown and start-up for the equipment. For example, during a power outage, you can turn off
some equipment while leaving critical equipment on. This feature allows you to save battery power. As
shown in Figure 24, the UPS has two load segments.

8-1 Alarm sound and UPS status

The UPS has an alarm function to warn of a failure. Use Table 9 to judge and resolve the alarm and its
UPS status.

8-2 How to stop the alarm sound

Press the button to turn off the audible alarm in the event of an actual failure. If a new UPS fault
occurs, a new alarm will sound regardless of the previous alarm stop.
