Magic Rituals
The benefits from high skill affect
magic rituals differently, depending on the
type of spellcaster.
Shaliia. Cost and time benefits are the
same as in GURPS Magic, but the special
effects differ. (See also Modular Abilities,
above.) Skill 9 or less: You must read aloud
directly from the Books of Time, after
locating the appropriate passage ahead of
time (and, one would hope, bookmarking
it). Skill 10-14: You may read aloud from
a personal (non-professional) copy of the
relevant passage. Skill 15-19: You may
recite the passage from memory. Skill 20-
24: You may speak the first three words of
the passage. Skill 25-29: You may think the
first three words of the passage. Skill 30+:
No ritual required; you are fully illuminated
with respect to the spell.
