Installation & Wiring

Connect the 5/8" PVC hose to each water

valve. Secure the 3/4" x 3/4" adaptors to the
sink manifold with the (2) 3/4" nuts. Connect
the (2) 3/4" hoses from the valves to the
adaptors.
Attach the (2) pressure hoses to the hot and

cold faucets, and then to the 2 valve entry
fittings on the dispensing unit. Turn the
faucets on to check for leaks.
Place the 3/16" barbed straight connector

into the rubber ribbed bushing. Insert
approximatly 1/2 - 2/3 in. Insert the assembly
into the 1/2" SS nipple that goes toward the
sink. Insert so that the bushing is flush with
the top of the nipple. Cut a section of 1/2"
PVC tubing. Straighten as well as possible.
Attach tube to the bottom of the 1/2" SS tube.
Cut tubing so it is extending about 6" into the
1/2" PVC Tube sink. At this point you should be able to

Pressure Switch
Setting The Pressure Switch:
The pressure switch used in the C125 control

is adjustable from 2.0" H 2O to 15" H 20. To

To preset the approximate level of switching

in the control and place a ohm meter across
the contacts. Remove the 3/16" hose from
the manifold. Place the hose into a column
of water slowly until the ohm meter reads 0
ohms. Measure the length of tube
submerged in the water column. This is the
distance above the end of the 1/2" tube, that
the switch will advance the washer.
If the level is not high enough, turn the

adjustment screw CCW 1/8-turn and retest.
Repeat until desired level is reached. If the

until the desired level is reached.
Warning: It is possible to turn the

adjustment screw to far CCW or CW.
Adjust Only 1/8 turn at a time: Do
Not push in on the adjustment screw.
This will damage the internal
diaphragm. Use the proper sized
screw driver. A eyeglass repair screw
driver works well in this application.

Power Supply/Relay Box
Relay Box/Power Supply.
This unit consists of a 230V/24VAC

step-down transformer and interconnecting
terminals with one snap in relay for the
vacuum pump interface. The relays are
capable of accepting either 24VAC or
24VDC inputs to the coil. Wire from the
24V outputs to the coil connections marked
"A1" and "A2". Polarity is not critical.

The unit is designed to accept additional

relays and connectors. Relays added can be
used to interface to the milk pump for
pump-down, for first detergent and acid
dump, external high voltage water valves, and
for high capacity chemical dispensing pumps.
Mount the unit in a dry place, preferably in

the utility room, close to the service panel
and the vacuum pump.

Vacuum Pump
Vacuum Pump Connection
The C125 sends a 24VAC signal from the

output. There are several ways the contactor
coil can be wired from the control.
24VAC Coil Contactor:
In the Power/Relay box, connect a wire from

24 VAC to terminal 13 on the control relay.
From terminal 14 of the control relay and
"24 VAC COM" on the terminal, connect to
the 24 VAC coil on the contactor. If a
second contactor is required use either a 120
VAC or 240 VAC and connect as shown in
Figure 13, 14 or 15.

The C125 washer control is capable of using
VACUUM LINE
a conventional air injection system, or use the
trombone system of injection. Select the
proper sequencing in item 40 of the extended
program options.
Conventional air injection: Using the basic

program option, or selecting "0" in item 40 of
the extended program, allows you to adjust
air injectors 1 and 2 independently.
The base injector is supplied with a 2" x 1-1/2"

reducer ferrule, a 3/4" restrictor plate and
mounting bracket. If a 2" draw line is used,
the reducer ferrule will not be required.
Also required is a 24VDC dual control valve,
for use with up to 2 air injector dump valves.
Note: The Deluxe Washer can use up to 2

air injectors (3, if cycle option is selected).

much air, rapid cooling of the water

In most milking systems, air injection is only
required on the add water line for cleaning
the milk line. The restrictor plate supplied,
will allow you to control the amount of air
injected at any one time. A second dump
valve may be required to add on to the CIP
line if milk meters, or any extra equipment is
used in the milking system requiring
additional turbulence. The double control
valve is capabable of handling up to 2
injectors.

Air Injection
Dump Valves.
The dump valves should be installed on the

system at a height greater than the highest
water level. This will keep the dump valve
from being saturated with water during
operation.
The dump valve can be clamped directly to

a 2" SS line, or to a 1-1/2" line, using the 2 x
1-1/2" reducer ferrule. Use the supplied
restrictor plate, if the air injection needs to
be restricted.
The control valve wires directly to the C125

control unit, terminals J2-7 (valve common),
J2-8 ( injector 1), & J2-9 (injector 2).

Single Loop, 1 Receiver
Install the trombone injector in the milk line

at the end of the parlor opposite the receiver.
The distance from the injector to the receiver
should be the same in both directions.
Mount the water valves and the injector on

the trombone per the illustration below.
Connect the inlets from the water valves to

the CIP line. One should be connected to the
left CIP line and the other to the right CIP
line. Mount the control valve to the vacuum
line. Wire the valve per the illustration on
page 29. Mount the air valve to the end of the
trombone (See assembly illustration).
Connect the vacuum tubes to the water
valves and the injector valve.

Double-Slope Milk Line With 2 Receivers
In a double-slope line, place the trombone as

close to the "U"-bend center as possible. The
"U" bend is normally the center point of the
line from the receiver. Repeat the assembly
of the trombone, with the exception that you
will pull both water valve sources from the
same location on the CIP line.
When using a special "U"-bend with 3" (or 4")

nipple, it is required to have an additional
90-degree ell to connect to the trombone.

Drain Valve
Drain Valve Installation
The drain valve is a 24VAC motorized valve.

The valve comes complete with 1-1/2" drain
couplings (with clamps), and is supplied
pre-wired with 10’ of 3-18 gauge cable.
1. Install the valve to the sink drain

securing it with the 2" SS clamps
provided. The valve is marked to
indicate the top or "inlet" side. Secure
this end to the sink. Connect a 1-1/2"
plastic drain pipe to the discharge of
the valve and direct it to the nearest
floor drain.
2. Connect the black and white wires to

J1-3 & J1-4 on the control. Connect
the green wire to an approved ground,
or to the ground screw in the control.
Install in similar method when installing on a

vertical wash vat.

correct over a 24 hour period. For example if
(-):08 is entered, the clock will subtract 8
seconds per 24 hour period (day).

In wash option 3, the chlorine used for the 2-part CIP will be the same solution used for the
chlorinated sanitizer. In this application, only 3 pumps will be used. If the cycle valve operation is
turned off, the chlorine pump output will deliver the solution for both 2-part CIP and for the
sanitizer. It is necessary to program the chlorine pump run time for the 2-part CIP, and the
sanitize pump run time for the sanitizer.
If, in the case that the cycle valve output is turned on, the sanitize pump output will operate both
the 2-part CIP and sanitizer. It is still necessary to program the chlorine pump run time for 2-part
CIP, and the sanitize pump run time for the sanitizer.

Wash option 6 is a unique program used for delivery of a special enzyme during the first rinse
cycle. The wash cycle then becomes a hot acid wash and the acid cycle becomes either a cold or
tepid rinse or a acid sanitize. In this wash option, the sanitize pump output will deliver the
necessary amount of enzyme. In addition, segments 3 and 4 would be 2 times that of the
programmed segment time of the rinse.
For example:
Rinse segment time programmed to 1:00 M:S.
Segments 5, 6 & 7 would be 1:00 M:S,
Segments 3 & 4 would be 2:00 M:S (2 times the segment time).

Program Items 8 -11 Manual Pump Run.
Programs 8 through 11 allow you to manually

run the dispensing pumps to calibrate the
discharge rate of each pump.
Warning: The chemicals are extremely

dangerous and can cause serious
bodily damage. Always use gloves and
goggles when handling concentrated
cleaning solutions.
Calibration procedure:

The cold water valve will turn on for 10

8 seconds to flush any excess alkali that may be
in the sink. The display will then go to the
flashing "Off" position. Press "Select". The
OFF display will alternate between 8 and Off.
If you choose, run a second test to verify the

result.
Important: The test must be run as close to

the sink manifold as possible to compensate
for hose length, and restrictions.
Press "Wash" to advance to the next manual

pump run. Repeat the calibration for the
acid, chlorine, and sanitize pumps. Record
the values on the program worksheet.
Program Items 12-15 Pump Run Times
Programs 12 through 15 are the pump run

times for the alkali, chlorine, acid and
sanitize pumps. These are the times the
pumps will run to deliver the appropriate
amount of chemical to the system. To
determine the correct run time, do the
following:
1. Take the previous recorded delivery

rates from Items 8-11.
2. From the chemical container,

determine the recommended portion
of chemical to water.
3. Determine the amount of water used

in the cycle.

Time.
The vacuum pump extend time is used to

increase the dry time of the system. The
vacuum pump can be programmed
independent of the segment time for each
cycle. It is not recommended to run this value
too high as this may damage the rotary vane

This program allows the system to pump

excess water out of the system at the end of
each cycle. The pump activates at the end of
segments 6, 15, 22, & 31.
For example: If the detergent wash segment

time is programmed to 1:10 M:S, and the
milk pump time is set to 00:30 M:S, segment
15 will operate for 40 seconds before the
pump energizes. In this case :40 + :30 = 70
seconds or 1:10 M:S. At no time can the milk
pump run longer than the programmed
segment time of each cycle.

Extended Program
If the program selection is set to 1, this is as

far as the program items will go. If it is set to
2 you can proceed to the extended program
items.
Program Item 30, Extend Detergent Fill

Time.
The extended fill allows the system to add

additional water to the system after the cycle
has advanced to the first circulate segment.
This can be used if the wash vat is not big
enough to handle all water requirements, to
replace water if the dump first detergent is
used, or to reduce the overall time of the
complete washing. The amount of water
added is based off of time. It will be
necessary to measure the flow rate of the
water from the water valves to determine the
amount of time required to supplement the
normal fill. It is not required to activate the
extended chemical fills if the extended water

The extend chemical fill allows the system to

add chemicals during the first recirculate
segments of each cycle. This works in
conjunction with the extended water fill
feature.
Typical uses for this program are: 1) chemical

demand not met after the wash vat has filled,
2) if detergent and acid first dump is used, 3)
to reduce the overall wash time.

Program Item 36, Dump First Detergent.
This program allows the system to dump the

first return water from the detergent cycle.
This can only occur in segment 9 of the
recirculate. To utilize this feature, the
system must have an input signal from the
milk pump to tell it has energized (See Figure
35 and 36). The input is 24VDC and requires
a dry contact.
At the start of segment 9, the control begins

to look for an input signal. Because the milk
pump may take several minutes to energize
at the beginning of the recirculate, an
additional 2:00 M:S is added to segment 9.
For example, if the normal segment time is
1:00 M:S segment 9 will actually be extended
to 3:00 M:S.
Segment 9 time = 2:00 M:S + Detergent

Segment Time = 2:00 + 1:00 = 3:00
In this case, segment 9 will wait 3:00 minutes
for the milk pump input signal. If, after 3:00
minutes no signal is seen, the unit advances,
to segment 10, and no first detergent dump
takes place. If the signal is received within
the 3:00 minutes, the diversion valve will
divert for the programmed time in item 36,
and then advance to segment 10.
An example of a total time of segment 9 if

first dump takes place:
Detergent segment time = 1:30 M:S

Dump first detergent time = 0:40 M:S

water will circulate and dump through the
diversion, while the hot valve remains open,

Program Item 56, Dump First Sanitize

Water (Valve # 1).
This program allows the system to dump the

first return water from the sanitize cycle.
This can only occur in segment 26 of the
sanitize recirculate. To utilize this feature,
the system must have an input signal from the
the milk pump to tell the controller the pump
has energized (see figures 35 & 36).
At the start of segment 26, the control begins

to look for an input signal. Because the milk
pump may take several minutes to energize
at the beginning of recirculate, an additional
2:00 M:S is added to segment 26 for example,
if the normal segment time is 1:00 M:S. The
segment can actually extend to 3:00 M:S. If,
after 3:00 minutes, the control has not seen
the signal, the system will advance to
segment 27 and the dump first return water
will be ignored. If the signal is received
within the 3:00 minute period, the recirculate
valve will divert for the programmed period
of item 56. An example of total time of
segment 26 if dump first sanitize takes place:

Pump Delay.
This program allows the chemical pumps to

delay, when activating in segments 9, 18 &
26. This feature will allow the extra chemical
to dispense into the vat when the divert first
return water takes place, reducing the
possible excessive chemical waste during
dump first recirculate.

rinse water, for the drain time.

Program Item 62, Milk Pump Run Segment

Position.
This allows the selection of one of two

positions to operate the wash water pump
down feature. The first position (Off)
operates in the normal segment at the end of
each cycle (segments 6, 15, 22 & 31). The
second position allows the milk pump to
energize at the end of the vacuum pump run
in each cycle. The vacuum pump will not
de-energize until the milk pump run time has
concluded. Program item 29 will still control
the length of run time.

Software Update
With version V1.13 and above it is possible to

update the C125 via a personal computer.
Versions V1.08 & above can be changed.
The following items are required to proceed

with and PC update.
1. PC (serial port connector).
2. A laptop or desk top with windows 98

or better.
3. Flash downloader software program.
To start the process, you must download

the flash downloader software into your
PC. Insert the floppy into your PC and
copy to folder in your C:\ drive.

Software Update
Insert the 9 pin connector of the SPC, into

a serial port on you PC.
With the C125 control powered up, insert
the black box end of the SPC onto the
socket connection, below the Micro, on
the C125.
The connector on the C125 has a guide

that aligns with the slot on the SPC. Be
sure to align these properly before
inserting.
Note: On some older board versions a quide
may not be available. Be sure the black box
connector is centered on the connector on
the board.
Once inserted, the display on the C125

will show "PROG".
Start the flash downloader on your PC.
When the unit is ready to proceed the PC
screen should show the following:
If you are not sure what COM port you are

connected to, check the "auto set" box.
The system will scan for the proper port.

Software Update
If the new software is on a 3-1/2 disk, insert

the disk now.
Click the "open upgrade file". The screen

will show the following:
Click on the file "C125V113 HEX", then

press open.
The firm ware version will come up in the

description block on the flash downloader.
Verify that everything is connected properly.
Press "flash firmware". The download status
box will begin to give a status, from 1-100% .
On the lower right hand corner of the C125

display, a LED dot will flash, indicating that
the firmware is being flashed. Once the
download is complete, the display will give
you a status of "download successful" on the
bottom of the screen.
Remove the SPC from the C125. The display

will first indicate the version just flashed,
then go back to normal operation.
The software update has now been

completed.

Basic C125 Installation and Wiring
The basic washer controller has many of the

same features found in the standard and
industrial C125 unit.
The basic unit is a self-contained unit which

includes the following:
• 1/2" water valves.

• (2) 25 oz per/min peristaltic pumps.
• Optional built-in dual control valves
capable of handling:
(1) diverter valve, and up to (2) air injectors.
• Adjustable pressure switch.

• 115/230VAC x 24VAC Power Supply-
CSA & UL certified.

Mount the control valve as shown in

For single dual valve installation:
1. Attach 3/8" bulk head manifold to side

of box.
2. Attach the valve using the # 8-32

screws and nuts supplied on the
cabinet.
3. Cut a 1-1/2" piece of 3/8" hose and

attach to the bulk head and reducer
tee supplied in the kit.
4. With a single valve install, secure the

rubber end cap to the front end of the
tee(1/4" side).

5. Cut a length of 1/4" hose and attach to

the other side of the tee, and then to
the vacuum entry to the valve.
SECOND NOTICE: It may be necessary to remove the

6. Attach the (4) 3/16" grommets to the

seperator panel and to the bottom of
the enclosure, on the holes nearest to
the rear of the enclosure.
7. Insert the (4) 3/16" couplings through

the grommets and attach (4) short
lengths of 3/16" hoses between them
(cut hoses about 4-1/8" long).
8. Attach (2) 4-1/2" lengths of 3/16" hose

from the valve exits to the 3/16"
couplings on the seperator panel.
9. From the nearest vacuum source, drill

and tap a 1/4" npt hole. If on a pvc
pipe, always drill and tap to the top of
the pipe. This will assure that moisture
will not drain into the hose and
corrode the valve.
10. Attach the 3/8" hose x 1/4" npt ell

adaptor to the hole.
11. Run 3/8" hose from the adaptor to the

bulk head entry to the enclosure.
