relentless march of progress has, in turn, fueled further
technological innovation, creating a beautiful cycle of
human ingenuity.
However, technology is not a neutral force. When wielded
by influential leaders, it holds immense power to shape not
just the present, but the very course of our future. These
leaders, whether in government, business, or even social
media, have the ability to leverage technology for good or
ill.
In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, the role

he financial industry stands at a crossroads in a
Tworld increasingly driven by innovation and tech
advancements. In 2024, it navigates a landscape
characterized by rapid revolution and digital disruption.
On the one hand, Fintech's rise is challenging conventional
wisdom with innovative solutions, user-friendly interfaces,
and lower fees. Further, emerging technologies like
Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and
Big Data analytics are reshaping the financial landscape,
offering faster transactions, personalized services, and
enhanced security.
On the other, due to changing expectations, consumers
increasingly demand seamless, digital-first experiences,
pushing for mobile-first solutions, instant access to
information, and personalized financial advice. Amit
Kumar Tyagi, Director & CTO of SRS Live Technolo-
gies Pvt. Ltd., aka , emerges in such a scenario.
SabPaisa
A visionary leader and tech evangelist, Amit is not just
navigating this dynamic landscape but actively shaping its
future. With over two decades of experience, his dedication
to innovation, inclusivity, and data-driven decision-making
has positioned him as an influential figure in the fintech
revolution.
Beyond the Technical: A Leader with a Vision
Amit's leadership goes beyond mere technical expertise. He
possesses a deep understanding of the evolving financial
ecosystem and the critical role technology plays in its
transformation. His vision is about implementing cutting-
edge solutions and harnessing technology to create a more
accessible, efficient, and inclusive financial experience for
all.
As an influential tech leader, Amit takes us back to the
beginning of his journey that began over two decades ago
as a software developer. “I was fascinated by the potential
of technology to revolutionize the way we live and work,”
says Amit, whose passion led him to explore various roles
in the tech industry, constantly seeking to expand my
knowledge and skills.
Over the years, he transitioned from hands-on technical
roles to strategic leadership positions, culminating in his
current role as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at
SabPaisa. “Throughout this journey, my guiding principle
has been to leverage technology for meaningful impact,
driving innovation that democratizes financial services and
makes them accessible to all,” shares Amit.
Emerging as India’s leading company, Amit says, their
guiding philosophy at SabPaisa is rooted in the belief that
technology should serve as a catalyst for positive change.
“We are committed to developing solutions that not only
address the immediate needs of our customers but also
anticipate future challenges.” This customer-centric
approach, combined with their dedication to innovation, has
been the cornerstone of their success. “We strive to create
an environment where creativity is encouraged, and every
team member feels empowered to contribute their best ideas
towards our collective goals,” adds Amit.
Recognized as the driving force behind SabPaisa’s success,
Amit’s leadership style is grounded in the principles of
empowerment, collaboration, and mutual respect. He
believes in nurturing a team culture where each member
feels valued and has the opportunity to grow professionally.

cation and transparency, they encourage innovation and
creative problem-solving. “I take pride in leading a team
that is not only technically proficient but also shares a
common vision of driving transformative change in the
fintech industry,” he adds.
A Champion for Innovation and User-Centricity
Also, Amit knows that the industrial landscape is continu-
ally evolving. Yet, he guided SabPaisa to acquire distinc-
tive, unique selling points centred around Amit and his

financial transactions. Additionally, their strong partner-
ships with banks and payment companies enable them to
offer a wide range of services that cater to the diverse needs
of their clients. Amit states, “Our commitment to excellence
in customer service further sets us apart in the competitive
fintech landscape.”
Digitalization and technological advancements are crucial
aspects of the modern industrial ecosystem. Amit informs
that at SabPaisa, they are at the forefront of integrating
digitalization and technological advancements into their
core operations. He adds, “Our agile approach to develop-
ment enables us to quickly adapt to emerging technologies
and market trends. We invest in research and development
to explore innovative solutions with enhanced security.” By
staying ahead of the technological curve, Amit ensures that
their services remain relevant and competitive in the ever-
evolving fintech landscape
Under Amit's guidance, SabPaisa has become a hub for
innovation. He champions adopting emerging technologies
like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Cloud
Computing, ensuring SabPaisa stays ahead of the curve.
However, his approach is firmly rooted in understanding
user needs and pain points. He believes in developing
solutions that are simple, secure, and accessible, empower-
ing individuals and businesses to navigate the financial
landscape with confidence.
Again, the essence of technology lies in innovation,
disruptions, and enhancing the end-user experience. Amit
says balancing operational efficiency and customer
satisfaction is crucial for their success at SabPaisa. “We
leverage advanced technologies and data analytics to
streamline our operations, ensuring that our services are
delivered quickly and accurately.”
At the same time, they strongly emphasise understanding
their customers' needs and preferences, allowing them to
tailor their solutions and provide a personalized experience.
“This dual focus ensures that we not only operate efficiently
but also consistently exceed our customers' expectations,”
claims Amit.
A Force of Inclusion
Amit recognizes that financial inclusion is a cornerstone of
a thriving economy. He spearheads initiatives that break
down barriers and make financial services more accessible
to underserved populations. His commitment to financial
literacy empowers individuals to make informed financial
decisions, promoting financial well-being and stability.
SabPaisa has achieved remarkable success. One of the most
transformative projects under Amit’s leadership has been
developing and implementing their integrated payment
gateway. Amit says, “This project was a game-changer for
our company, as it significantly improved the efficiency and
security of our payment processing system.” The integration
of AI technology allowed them to offer their customers
smarter, more personalized services, leading to increased
satisfaction and loyalty. This initiative strengthened their
market position and set a new standard for innovation in the
fintech sector.
Amit ardently believes that the workforce is the cornerstone
of every successful organization. Thus, fostering a culture
of growth and empowerment is a key priority for him as a
leader. He shares, “I believe in providing our team with
continuous learning opportunities through formal training
programs, workshops, or hands-on projects. We also
strongly focus on recognizing and rewarding individual and
team achievements, which motivates our employees to excel
in their roles.” By creating an environment where everyone
feels supported and encouraged to reach their full potential,
Amit says they drive the collective success of SabPaisa.

Beyond Individual Success: A Collaborative Spirit
As leaders in India’s financial sector, Amit and his team
have faced several challenges. Sharing an example of his
team's resilience and ingenuity, Amit says it was during a
critical system upgrade that presented unexpected technical
challenges. “Despite the complexities, our team demon-
strated remarkable dedication and problem-solving skills,
working around the clock to ensure a seamless transition.
Their ability to adapt and overcome obstacles under
pressure was a testament to their commitment to maintain-
ing the highest service standards for our customers,” he
says proudly.
Amit's influence extends beyond SabPaisa. He actively
participates in industry forums, mentors aspiring tech
leaders, and advocates for collaboration within the fintech
ecosystem. He believes that by sharing knowledge and
resources, the industry can collectively create a more
equitable and sustainable financial future for all.
The tech innovations have reshaped industries globally.
Amit’s contribution to AI and innovation in the fintech
sector is reflected in SabPaisa's adoption of cutting-edge
technologies to enhance its payment solutions. Amit says
they constantly explore new ways to leverage AI for
improved customer insights, fraud detection, risk manage-
ment, and personalized service offerings. “By fostering a
culture of innovation, we encourage our team to experiment
with new technologies and approaches, leading to ground-
breaking solutions that redefine the fintech landscape,” he
adds.
Looking Ahead: Shaping the Future of Finance
Businesses are a way for the Indian industry to pace its
economic potential and capacity. So, for budding entrepre-
neurs in the tech space, Amit’s advice is to embrace a
mindset of continuous learning and resilience. The tech
industry constantly evolves, so staying informed about the
latest trends and technologies is crucial. Don't be afraid to
take risks and learn from failures; these experiences are
invaluable for growth. Focus on solving real-world
problems with your innovations, and always prioritize your
customers' needs. Building a strong network of mentors,
peers, and partners can also provide support and open doors
to new opportunities.
Amit divulges his vision for in 2024: “To solidify
SabPaisa
our position as a leader in the fintech industry, both in India
and on a global scale.” He adds that they aim to expand
their product offerings, entering new markets with
innovative payment solutions that cater to the diverse needs
of their international clientele. “We will continue to invest in
AI and machine learning to enhance our services and gain
deeper insights into customer behaviour. Our goal is to
drive further innovation in the fintech sector, contributing to
a more inclusive and technologically advanced financial
ecosystem,” concludes Amit.
Thus, Amit's vision and leadership promise to continue
making waves as we move forward. He is committed to:
Furthering innovation: Exploring emerging technologies
like Quantum Computing and leveraging the power of data
analytics to personalize financial experiences.
Promoting financial inclusion: Expanding access to
financial services for underserved populations and ensuring
responsible lending practices.
Building a sustainable future: Implementing green
technologies and promoting environmentally conscious
financial solutions.

The Visionaries
How
TechLeaders
Shape
the
Future
of
Industries?
18 | www.ciolookindia.com March, 2024
he tides of technological change are relentless,
Tconstantly reshaping the landscapes of entire
industries. Technology plays a central role in
driving innovation and shaping the future of industries in
today's dynamic and fast-paced world.
At the forefront of this transformation stand visionary tech
leaders – individuals with the foresight to anticipate trends,
the courage to disrupt the status quo, the ingenuity to forge
new paths, and creativity, and drive to transform the way
we live, work, and interact. These leaders are not merely
technologists; they are architects of the future.
These individuals, often holding the titles of Chief
Technology Officers (CTOs) or Chief Innovation Officers
(CIOs), are instrumental in driving change and pushing the
boundaries of what's possible in their respective fields.
The Responsibility of Tech Leadership: A Double-Edged
Sword for Progress
Tech leaders are not just focused on implementing the latest
technological trends; they are visionaries who anticipate
future challenges and opportunities, and develop strategies
to address them proactively. They understand the power of
emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence,
blockchain, big data analytics, and the Internet of Things
(IoT), and they leverage these tools to drive innovation,
improve efficiency, and enhance customer experiences.
One of the key roles of tech leaders is to foster a culture of
innovation within their organizations. They encourage
experimentation, risk-taking, and collaboration,
empowering their teams to think outside the box and
explore new ideas. By creating an environment that values
creativity and encourages experimentation, tech leaders are
able to unleash the full potential of their teams and drive
meaningful change.
Furthermore, tech leaders play a crucial role in driving
digital transformation within their industries. They
recognize the importance of embracing digital technologies
to stay competitive in today's digital economy, and they
lead efforts to digitize processes, streamline operations, and
create new digital products and services. By championing
digital transformation initiatives, tech leaders help their
organizations adapt to changing market dynamics and seize
new opportunities for growth.
In addition to driving innovation and digital transformation,
tech leaders also play a vital role in shaping the ethical and
19 | www.ciolookindia.com March, 2024
societal implications of technology. They understand the
importance of responsible innovation and advocate for
ethical and inclusive technology practices. They consider
the impact of their decisions on diverse stakeholders,
including customers, employees, communities, and the
environment, and they strive to create technology solutions
that are both beneficial and ethical.
The Power of Visionary Thinking
Visionary tech leaders possess a unique ability to see
beyond the present. They can identify nascent trends,
anticipate future needs, and imagine possibilities yet
unseen. This foresight allows them to make bold decisions
that propel their companies and, by extension, entire
industries, forward.
Consider Jeff Bezos, who envisioned a world where online
shopping could replace traditional brick-and-mortar retail.
His unwavering belief in this future fueled the rise of
Amazon, forever altering the landscape of commerce.
Similarly, Elon Musk, with his audacious vision for space
exploration and electric vehicles, has challenged established
paradigms and pushed the boundaries of what's possible.
Driving Innovation and Disruption
Visionary leaders understand that true progress often stems
from challenging the status quo. They are unafraid to
disrupt established practices and embrace innovative
solutions. This spirit of disruption is the engine of
technological advancement.
Steve Jobs, a prime example, revolutionized personal
computing with Apple by prioritizing user experience and
sleek design. His relentless pursuit of innovation led to the
creation of iconic products like the Macintosh and the
iPhone, fundamentally transforming the way we interact
with technology.
Shaping the World We Live In
The impact of visionary tech leaders extends far beyond
their companies. Their decisions have a ripple effect,
impacting entire industries and, ultimately, shaping the
world we live in. The rise of social media platforms like
Facebook and Twitter, spearheaded by visionaries like Mark
Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey, has redefined communication
and reshaped social interaction on a global scale.
The Responsibility of Leadership
Visionary leadership within the tech sector comes with
immense responsibility. The decisions made by these
leaders can have profound consequences, not just for the
companies they run but for society as a whole. It's crucial
for these leaders to consider the ethical implications of their
innovations and ensure that technology is used to benefit
humanity as a whole.
The Future We Build
The future belongs to those who dare to dream it. Visionary
tech leaders, with their relentless pursuit of innovation and
unwavering commitment to shaping a better tomorrow,
stand at the forefront of progress. As we navigate the ever-
evolving technological landscape, it's important to
recognize the immense influence these leaders hold and the
responsibility they carry. The world we build tomorrow will
be a reflection of the vision they choose to champion today.
Overall, tech leaders are instrumental in shaping the future
of industries by driving innovation, fostering a culture of
experimentation, leading digital transformation efforts, and
advocating for ethical and inclusive technology practices.
As we look to the future, the insights and initiatives of these
visionary leaders will continue to drive progress and shape
the trajectory of industries around the world.

Priya Kanduri
Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and
Senior Vice President (SVP)
Happiest Minds Technologies
22 | www.ciolookindia.com March, 2024
In a landscape marked by persistent gender disparities,
particularly in the male-dominated tech sector, Priya
Kanduri emerges as a beacon of change and progress.
As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Senior Vice
President (SVP) of in
Happiest Minds Technologies
Bengaluru, Priya embodies the spirit of innovation,
leadership, and gender inclusivity.
Priya’s story shines as a testament to the potential for
meaningful change. As a prominent figure in the tech
industry, her journey exemplifies resilience, determination,
and excellence. By breaking barriers and shattering
stereotypes, Priya ascended to leadership and actively
advocated for gender equality and empowerment in the
workplace.
Priya’s exclusive interview with CIOLook India is given
herein.
As an influential CTO in your industry, could you take
us back to the beginning of your journey? What
motivated you to step into this dynamic ecosystem?
I started my journey in tech two and a half decades ago,
straight out of college. I have been in the IT industry for all
these years, and I work in the cyber security segment of IT,
which is severely underrepresented by women. When I
graduated from STEM, I was one of the very few women in
my engineering batch and fewer still in the field of
cybersecurity. Society expected girls to stick to conserva-
tive life choices and frowned upon those who broke the
stereotypical norms.
Computer Science engineering was considered a sole
privilege for boys, and girls were deemed weak in maths
and programming. There were very few women to interact
with, share notes with, or learn from. Diversity and
inclusion was not even a buzz word in those days. Working-
mom-friendly work environments were far and few.
Considering these not as challenges but as opportunities and
embracing them helped me grow in my career. I developed
a deep passion for maths and computing, excelled in
computer programming and joined cybersecurity because it
met my passion for its use of deep tech, opportunities for
curious learning and allowed me to perform and grow in an
ever-evolving industry.
My unconscious approach to the situation had been to turn
the position of the minority into a privilege to influence,
trying to speak up and share my experiences and learnings
at every possible opportunity. Creating an eco-system of
supporting colleagues and having the right men-
tors—preferably women leaders—helps today’s tech
women navigate their career paths.
I consciously worked towards it. I was fortunate to be
associated with firms such as Wipro and HappiestMinds,
which offered high-growth environments and encouraged
women's leadership.
Priya
Kanduri
The Most Respected D&I Champion of the Indian Cybersecurity Industry
23 | www.ciolookindia.com March, 2024
At HappiestMinds, a new-age digital transformation firm,
my current work involves developing next-generation cyber
defence Platforms for global customers. Now, as a D&I
champion and a women leader, I actively promote diversity
in the workplace, constantly encourage my teams and peers
to hire more women and devise inclusive approaches to
create a very women-friendly work atmosphere. It has been
and is my motivation, passion, and mission to make gender
equality in the workplace.
Bridging gender parity is possible only when everyone
acknowledges and comes together to address the issue. IT
organizations in India have come a long way in fixing these
gaps and should continue to focus on increasing workplace
gender ratios of 30:70 to 50:50!
Your company has emerged as India's leading company
in its niche. Could you share the guiding philosophy that
has propelled your organization's success?
Happiest Minds is a Born Digital Born Agile IT consulting

of technology innovation, human-centric values, and

These platforms have won multiple industry awards and

ship Summit].
Your influential leadership style is often recognized as a
driving force behind your company's achievements.
Could you shed light on your approach to leadership
and team building within the organization?
I possess decisive and creative leadership skills. I am
passionate about my work and always give my best. I
believe in contributing as much as I can. As D&I champion
for HappiestMinds, I crafted and executed innovative
approaches to increase diversity from < 14% to over 30% in
the last three years, especially in the manager and mid-level

I follow an inclusive leadership approach by seeking
diverse perspectives, promoting equality, and creating an
equal-opportunity environment for all my team members.
Proactively identifying and formulating growth opportuni-
ties for team members, including training, skill develop-
ment, and career advancement pathways, is paramount to
creating high-performance teams.
Fostering a supportive and inclusive culture, empowering
team members, and encouraging them to take on bigger and
more challenging roles and responsibilities have helped me
create a positive and supportive work environment and
ultimately drive innovation and productivity within the
organization.

The essence of technology lies in levelling the field. How
do you strike a balance between operational efficiency
and gender equality?
I have built a team with 40% women diversity in my
cybersecurity service business. I conceptualized a special
“women in tech” initiative, which has conducted seven
episodes so far, including webinars, fireside chats, and
panel discussions with women leaders across the globe and
industries, to promote and encourage more women to take
leadership roles in the cybersecurity field.
I have already conducted multiple webinars, fireside chats,
and panel discussions with various global women leaders
across industries to promote and encourage more women to
take leadership roles in cybersecurity, promoting diversity
and inclusion. Also, mentoring women leaders in mid-levels
within the organization, specifically in the cyber security
domain, is another approach of mine. I have helped plan
careers for and create multiple women leaders in
cybersecurity.
Digitalization and technological advancements are
crucial aspects of the modern industrial ecosystem. How
does your company integrate these principles into its
core functioning and contribute to a technovative
future?
We enable digital transformation for enterprises and
technology providers by delivering seamless customer
experiences, business efficiency and actionable insights. At
Happiest Minds, we deploy a holistic approach to digital
transformation, industry-specific expertise, global reach,
and a commitment to innovation and sustainability to stay
ahead in the digital age.
We leverage emerging and core technologies in our web
technology solutions to enable the world’s top enterprises,
governments, and organizations to deliver business value to
their customers and shareholders.
We leverage a spectrum of disruptive technologies such as
artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud, digital process
automation, internet of things, robotics/drones, security,
virtual/augmented reality, etc. Our uniqueness is our
position of ‘Born Digital. Born Agile.
Also, Happiest Minds is the first Indian IT firm to be ‘The
Mindful IT Company,’ a logical extension of our happiness
brand positioning. This indicates our endeavour to be
mindful of our approach to our people, customers, and the
community. Mindfulness is a worldwide movement, and
Happiest Minds is proud to be the first Indian IT company
to embrace this philosophy consciously.
The workforce is the cornerstone of any successful
organization. How does your company foster a culture
of growth, skill development, and empowerment among
its employees?
Fostering a culture of growth, skill development, and
empowerment among employees involves a multifaceted
approach, requires proactive leadership and creates an
environment where individuals feel valued, supported, and
motivated to evolve and excel continuously. Some of the
strategies that I have adopted are,
25 | www.ciolookindia.com March, 2024
• Creating Continuous Learning Opportunities for the
team,
• Creating individual development plans, and
• Encouraging Constant Knowledge Sharing within the
team.
As a leader in India's industrial sector, you surely have
faced your share of challenges. How your resilience and
ingenuity triumphed over adversity?
My journey in tech has not been without its share of
challenges that most women also face during their careers.
It may sound stereotypical, but the constant doubt of
whether I was giving my best at home and work was hard to
overcome. Making a mark in the cyber field, where women
are severely outnumbered, has been challenging yet
rewarding.
While women have come a long way, there still exists a
huge gender gap, especially in middle and senior manage-
ment. Women leaders are the key success factors for the
growth of any organization. They bring diverse thinking
and creativity, communicate more effectively, and work
collaboratively. I truly believe more and more women
should pursue careers in IT and, more importantly, stay
steadfast in the face of challenges and persist with their
career ambitions.
In the next twenty years, technology will be used more
creatively than ever. To keep up with the changing trends,
techies must focus on constant learning, avail themselves of
all social channels for learning and growth, have a mentor
to guide them, and finally, be with the right organization for
the right development. Tech women must envision their
short-term and long-term goals to reach the top.
Tech is a way for the Indian industry to accelerate its
economic potential and capacity. What would you advise
to women aspiring to venture into tech or STEM?
My advice to all the lovely girls and women embracing the
field of STEM is;
Believe in yourself. The STEM field is gender-neutral, and
girls are as good as boys in engineering. You have thou-
sands of examples; look around and get inspired. Embrace
failures. Everyone learns from them.
Develop problem-solving skills. Remember, no one knows
better than women the art of juggling multiple fronts and
solving diverse problems along the way. STEM and the
career thereafter are no different. Develop a passion for
math, numbers, and solving problems for customers.
Learn, learn, and learn. Cliched though it may be,
curiosity and continuous learning will remain the bedrock
for your growth in a complex and constantly changing
world. Even today, I spend an hour reading relevant
content.
Find your mentors. Remember, there are as many men as
women who can give you useful career advice. Many men
are equally big advocates of girls taking up STEM or
women in tech. Find them and leverage their experience.
Finally, Don’t Quit. You’ll face many situations when you
are told to choose between education/career and other
priorities. Stay steadfast in your dream; don’t quit.

10 Most Influential CTOs Revamping Their Industries-2024.pdf
The technology has revolutionized every industry
sector through multiple applications in communica-
tion, data analytics, cyber security, business
management, quality control, supply chain, CRM and more.
These tech applications are indeed the essential pillars of
modern organizations, and they are skilfully managed by a
well-trained team of technologists headed by the chief
technology officer (CTO).
The role and importance of an active and dynamic CTO
influence efficiency and growth prospects. Modern CTOs
help identify opportunities, bridge needs with applications,
support mitigating risks, and enhance customer engagement
with the right solutions.
Leading the teams with his visionary approach and passion,
R. Ramasubramaniam, the Chief Information and
Technology Officer (CITO) at TTK Prestige Limited, has
emerged as an inspiring solution provider for the organiza-
tion and its clients.
In an engaging rendezvous with CIO LOOK India maga-
zine, Mr R. Ramasubramaniam unfolded his journey of
entry in the tech sector, challenges faced, innovations
initiated and how he guided the organization to the level of
success it is today. The highlights of the same are as
follows...
As an influential CTO in your industry, could you take
us back to the beginning of your journey? What
motivated you to step into this dynamic ecosystem?
Reflecting on the beginning of my journey as a Chief
Information and Technology Officer (CITO) in the industry
brings back memories of curiosity, passion, and a thirst for
innovation.
I began my career as a Manufacturing Engineer responsible
for Manufacturing operations in a leading and renowned
organisation. As a normal and regular consumer of Data and
Technology, my expectations were high and large. This
experience motivated me to switch from Manufacturing to
Information Technology.
From Technology Consumer to Technology Provider!
Whatever I expected as a Technology Consumer has taught
me to focus on “Customer First” and Design user-friendly
solutions that are Simple, Standard, and Robust.
My journey into the tech world began during my formative
years when I developed a fascination for computers, coding,
and technology in general. I was drawn to the endless
possibilities that technology offered in terms of solving
complex problems, improving efficiency, and enhancing
people's lives.
Although I am a Mechanical Engineer, I progressed and
pursued my education with Master’s degrees in Manage-
ment, Technology and consulting, Information Security, and
Digital Strategy and Transformation.
I am always eager to deepen my knowledge of technology
and its applications. During this time, I had the opportunity
to work on various academic and personal projects that
allowed me to hone my skills and explore different facets of
technology, from software development to network
architecture to data analysis to cybersecurity to Digital
Strategy and Transformation.
What truly motivated me to step into the dynamic ecosys-
tem of being a CITO was the desire to make a tangible
impact with technology. I was inspired by technology's
transformative potential to drive innovation, disrupt

industries, and create positive change in the world. I saw

presented endless opportunities for growth, exploration, and
discovery, motivating me to stay at the forefront of
emerging trends and advancements.
Stepping into the role of a CITO was not just about
pursuing a career but embarking on a fulfilling journey
where I could leverage my passion for technology to drive
meaningful impact and contribute to shaping the future of
the digital world. This journey continues to inspire me
every day as I collaborate with talented teams, navigate
complex challenges, and strive to push the boundaries of
what is possible with technology.

Change-Makers

he digital age is a whirlwind of innovation,
Tconstantly churning out new technologies that
reshape industries and redefine the way we live. In
an era defined by rapid technological advancement and
digital disruption, adaptability is key to navigating the ever-
changing landscape of innovation.
Amidst this relentless change, a special breed of leaders
emerges – the adaptive technovators, the change-makers
who not only navigate disruption but leverage it to forge a
path forward. Living at the forefront of transformation these
change-makers are adaptive technovators who not only
embrace emerging technologies but also lead their
organizations through the waves of technological
disruption.
Masters of Agility
Change-makers are visionary leaders who possess the
agility and foresight to anticipate industry shifts and harness
the power of technology to drive change. They understand
that in today's hyper-connected world, the ability to adapt
and innovate is essential for staying relevant and
competitive.
Unlike their rigidly structured counterparts, adaptive
technovators thrive in uncertainty. They possess an uncanny
ability to anticipate change, embrace new ideas, and adjust
their strategies on the fly. This agility allows them to
capitalize on emerging trends and stay ahead of the curve.
Take Satya Nadella, who, upon becoming CEO of
Microsoft, recognized the need to adapt from a software
giant to a cloud-computing leader. His embrace of open-
source technologies and cloud services like Azure
revitalized the company, proving that adaptability is key to
survival in a fast-paced technological landscape.
These adaptive technovators are not bound by traditional
norms or practices. Instead, they challenge the status quo
and push the boundaries of what's possible. They leverage
emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence,
machine learning, blockchain, and the Internet of Things to
reimagine business models, enhance customer experiences,
and streamline operations.

Orchestrating Transformation
One of the defining characteristics of change-makers is their
ability to inspire and empower others. They cultivate a
culture of innovation within their organizations,
encouraging creativity, experimentation, and collaboration.
By fostering an environment where new ideas are
welcomed and failure is seen as a learning opportunity,
change-makers empower their teams to think outside the
box and explore new possibilities.
Adaptive technovators are more than just nimble leaders;
they are orchestrators of transformation. They understand
the human aspect of change and possess the skills to guide
their teams through periods of disruption. Effective
communication, a culture of experimentation, and a
willingness to empower employees are all crucial tools in
their arsenal.
Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Meta (formerly Facebook),
exemplifies this leadership style. She championed
initiatives like "Move Fast and Break Things," encouraging
calculated risk-taking and fostering a culture of innovation
within the company. This adaptability allowed Facebook to
evolve from a social media platform to a social commerce
giant.
Leading with Foresight
Furthermore, change-makers are adept at navigating
complexity and uncertainty. They understand that
technological disruption brings both challenges and
opportunities, and they are not afraid to take calculated
risks in pursuit of innovation. They embrace ambiguity and
leverage their problem-solving skills to find creative
solutions to complex problems.
While agility is paramount, adaptive technovators don't
operate solely in the present. They possess a keen eye for
the future, constantly scanning the horizon for the next
wave of technological disruption. This foresight allows
them to make strategic investments and develop long-term
plans that position their companies for continued success.
Elon Musk, a prime example, isn't just disrupting the
electric vehicle industry with Tesla; he's also pushing the
boundaries of space exploration with SpaceX. His vision
for a multi-planetary future may seem audacious, but his
ability to anticipate and prepare for technological
advancements keeps him at the forefront of change.
The Disruption Dividend
The ability to adapt and innovate isn't just a recipe for
individual success; it's a driver of progress for entire
industries. Adaptive technovators, by embracing disruption,
create opportunities for new products, services, and
business models. This, in turn, fosters competition, drives
down costs, and ultimately benefits consumers.
In addition to driving internal innovation, change-makers
also play a crucial role in shaping industry trends and
standards. They actively engage with stakeholders,
collaborate with industry partners, and participate in
industry forums to share insights and best practices. By
leading by example and advocating for technological
advancement, change-makers help shape the future of their
industries.
The rise of the sharing economy, pioneered by companies
like Uber and Airbnb, is a testament to this. These
companies, led by adaptive technovators, leveraged
technological advancements to disrupt traditional industries
and create entirely new ecosystems, fundamentally
changing the way we travel and find accommodation.
Navigating the Unknown
The future remains unwritten, but one thing is certain:
change is inevitable. In this ever-evolving landscape,
adaptive technovators will continue to play a pivotal role.
Their agility, foresight, and ability to lead through
disruption will shape the industries of tomorrow and define
the course of human progress. As we step into the unknown,
it's these change-makers who will illuminate the path
forward.

implementation of India’s first Technical Insurance
Redressal Platform. With a strong technical background
and visionary approach, he has been creating efficient
solutions, understanding user behaviour and adding value to
customers.
This Pundit of technology, an Engineer, entrepreneur, Shark
Tank participant, and public speaker, has shared his journey
in an exclusive interview with CIOLook India. Here are the
snippets:
Insurance Samadhan has emerged as India’s leading
company in its niche. Could you share the guiding
philosophy that has propelled your organization’s
success?
From day one, the philosophy of Insurance Samadhan has
been to put the customer first. Every decision we have
made, whether big or small, has been made with an eye on
our customers. If that decision adds any value to the
customer, we execute. The customer is the most important
stakeholder of the business, and it should remain the same
however big you grow. You build a solution, and the
endeavour should always be to optimize for user
experience.
The industrial landscape is continually evolving. Please
brief our audience about your firm’s USPs and how you
are currently positioned as one of the best
transformational companies in its sector.
Insurance Samadhan is India’s first technical platform for
resolving Insurance grievances. We are a category creator
business. We are proud to share that from being no
reference point in this domain, Insurance Samadhan is now
considered the reference point in the insurance resolution
industry. Along with the above, our USP is that we don’t
sell any insurance or financial products in any form. We are
a successful fee-based platform that only charges people
once we have resolved their insurance grievances.
Your influential leadership style is often recognized as a
driving force behind Insurance Samadhan’s
achievements. Could you shed light on your approach to
leadership and team building within the organization?
Leadership style is pretty simple. You have to know your
team beyond the professionals they are. We have always
believed in a lean team philosophy, so it has been easy to
forge bonds with people. I am a big Dhoni fan, so I follow
his open-door policy. My team can access me for anything
and everything they want to discuss. Good and smart people
always look forward to opportunities to grow. So, if you
must keep providing them with challenges, which is a given
in our case, as we are dealing with a problem with no
reference point, it becomes easier for you to lead people.
The essence of technology lies in innovation, disruptions,
and enhancing the end-user experience. How does
Insurance Samadhan strike a balance between
operational efficiency and customer satisfaction?
Customers are the most important stakeholders, but
sometimes, they don’t know what they want or can’t
articulate it. You have to be able to filter out the noise from
the feedback and then act on the same. If there has to be a
call between operational efficiency and customer
satisfaction—it has to be customer satisfaction every single
time. You must play the long-term game and keep
optimizing for operational efficiency. It isn’t easy, but if you
have to take a hit to your operational efficiency metric today
to enhance long-term customer satisfaction, you should do
it.
At Insurance Samadhan, we
have had a tech-first
approach from day one,
which has been the single
biggest reason for us scaling
with our small team.
39 | www.ciolookindia.com March, 2024
What would you advise other budding entrepreneurs
aspiring to venture into tech?
Build for the customer. Use tech to solve for customer
experience. Don’t be afraid to iterate multiple times. Don’t
wait to make the perfect solution; ship as fast and as often
as possible. The real test of the product is the market. Find a
specific niche or problem you are passionate about and have
a market need. Focusing on a niche allows you to
effectively stand out and address a particular segment.
Build a strong professional network within the tech
industry. Seek mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs
who can provide guidance based on their successes and
failures.
Looking to 2024, what is your vision for Insurance
Samadhan? How do you aspire to continue significantly
impacting India’s transformational, tech-powered,
innovative future landscape?
Our vision for the company is to be the most trusted tech
platform for enhancing faith in the insurance ecosystem. We
strive to demystify insurance through technology, making it
easier for individuals to understand policies, coverages, and
claims processes. By fostering transparency and
accessibility, we aim to empower individuals to make
informed decisions about their insurance needs. We will
keep working towards the same.
Digitalization and technological advancements are
crucial aspects of the modern industrial ecosystem. How
does your company integrate these principles into its
core functioning and contribute to a technovative
future?
At Insurance Samadhan, we have had a tech-first approach
from day one, which has been the biggest reason for us
scaling with our small team. Our headcount since our Shark
Tank Episode was aired has only doubled, but we have
grown close to 8x in our top line of business. Our latest
offering, KYP (Know your policy), which has become the
talk of the town, is again a revolutionary product uniquely
global in nature. You just upload your insurance policy doc
in our app, which dissects your policy and presents it to you
in the most simplified manner. We are solving the painful
issue of a common person getting to understand his
insurance policy, and if there are any issues with it, we
assist in solving that also.
The workforce is the cornerstone of any successful
organization. How does Insurance Samadhan foster a
culture of growth, skill development and empowerment
among its employees?
We are proud of the team we have built at Insurance
Samadhan. When we started, we had to pick freshers and
train them as we had no industry reference to pick the
workforce from. We were doing a unique service for which
we had to make our processes. This led to an open field
whereby everyone had an equal opportunity for growth. We
constantly motivate people to do skill-based courses and
have also posted some of our success stories on social
media forums. The philosophy is simple: a growing team
will build a growing organisation.
As a leader in India’s industrial sector, your company
has likely faced its share of challenges. Could you share
an instance where your team’s resilience and ingenuity
triumphed over adversity?
When we started, we were actually a bit sceptical of how
the insurance industry would react to such a platform, but to
our amazement, the industry has been supportive.
Businesses are a way for the Indian industry to accelerate
its economic potential and capacity.

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Senior Vice President (SVP) of in Happiest Minds Technologies Bengaluru, Priya embodies the spirit of innovation, leadership, and gender inclusivity. Priya’s story shines as a testament to the potential for meaningful change. As a prominent figure in the tech industry, her journey exemplifies resilience, determination, and excellence. By breaking barriers and shattering stereotypes, Priya ascended to leadership and actively advocated for gender equality and empowerment in the workplace. Priya’s exclusive interview with CIOLook India is given herein. As an influential CTO in your industry, could you take us back to the beginning of your journey? What motivated you to step into this dynamic ecosystem? I started my journey in tech two and a half decades ago, straight out of college. I have been in the IT industry for all these years, and I work in the cyber security segment of IT, which is severely underrepresented by women. When I graduated from STEM, I was one of the very few women in my engineering batch and fewer still in the field of cybersecurity. Society expected girls to stick to conserva- tive life choices and frowned upon those who broke the stereotypical norms. Computer Science engineering was considered a sole privilege for boys, and girls were deemed weak in maths and programming. There were very few women to interact with, share notes with, or learn from. Diversity and inclusion was not even a buzz word in those days. Working- mom-friendly work environments were far and few. Considering these not as challenges but as opportunities and embracing them helped me grow in my career. I developed a deep passion for maths and computing, excelled in computer programming and joined cybersecurity because it met my passion for its use of deep tech, opportunities for curious learning and allowed me to perform and grow in an ever-evolving industry. My unconscious approach to the situation had been to turn the position of the minority into a privilege to influence, trying to speak up and share my experiences and learnings at every possible opportunity. Creating an eco-system of supporting colleagues and having the right men- tors—preferably women leaders—helps today’s tech women navigate their career paths. I consciously worked towards it. I was fortunate to be associated with firms such as Wipro and HappiestMinds, which offered high-growth environments and encouraged women's leadership. • 28. • Creating Continuous Learning Opportunities for the team, • Creating individual development plans, and • Encouraging Constant Knowledge Sharing within the team. As a leader in India's industrial sector, you surely have faced your share of challenges. How your resilience and ingenuity triumphed over adversity? My journey in tech has not been without its share of challenges that most women also face during their careers. It may sound stereotypical, but the constant doubt of whether I was giving my best at home and work was hard to overcome. Making a mark in the cyber field, where women are severely outnumbered, has been challenging yet rewarding. While women have come a long way, there still exists a huge gender gap, especially in middle and senior manage- ment. Women leaders are the key success factors for the growth of any organization. They bring diverse thinking and creativity, communicate more effectively, and work collaboratively. I truly believe more and more women should pursue careers in IT and, more importantly, stay steadfast in the face of challenges and persist with their career ambitions. In the next twenty years, technology will be used more creatively than ever. To keep up with the changing trends, techies must focus on constant learning, avail themselves of all social channels for learning and growth, have a mentor to guide them, and finally, be with the right organization for the right development. Tech women must envision their short-term and long-term goals to reach the top. Tech is a way for the Indian industry to accelerate its economic potential and capacity. What would you advise to women aspiring to venture into tech or STEM? My advice to all the lovely girls and women embracing the field of STEM is; Believe in yourself. The STEM field is gender-neutral, and girls are as good as boys in engineering. You have thou- sands of examples; look around and get inspired. Embrace failures. Everyone learns from them. Develop problem-solving skills. Remember, no one knows better than women the art of juggling multiple fronts and solving diverse problems along the way. STEM and the career thereafter are no different. Develop a passion for math, numbers, and solving problems for customers. Learn, learn, and learn. Cliched though it may be, curiosity and continuous learning will remain the bedrock for your growth in a complex and constantly changing world. Even today, I spend an hour reading relevant content. Find your mentors. Remember, there are as many men as women who can give you useful career advice. Many men are equally big advocates of girls taking up STEM or women in tech. Find them and leverage their experience. Finally, Don’t Quit. You’ll face many situations when you are told to choose between education/career and other priorities. Stay steadfast in your dream; don’t quit. 26 | www.ciolookindia.com March, 2024

  • 37. he digital age is a whirlwind of innovation, Tconstantly churning out new technologies that reshape industries and redefine the way we live. In an era defined by rapid technological advancement and digital disruption, adaptability is key to navigating the ever- changing landscape of innovation. Amidst this relentless change, a special breed of leaders emerges – the adaptive technovators, the change-makers who not only navigate disruption but leverage it to forge a path forward. Living at the forefront of transformation these change-makers are adaptive technovators who not only embrace emerging technologies but also lead their organizations through the waves of technological disruption. Masters of Agility Change-makers are visionary leaders who possess the agility and foresight to anticipate industry shifts and harness the power of technology to drive change. They understand that in today's hyper-connected world, the ability to adapt and innovate is essential for staying relevant and competitive. Unlike their rigidly structured counterparts, adaptive technovators thrive in uncertainty. They possess an uncanny ability to anticipate change, embrace new ideas, and adjust their strategies on the fly. This agility allows them to capitalize on emerging trends and stay ahead of the curve. Take Satya Nadella, who, upon becoming CEO of Microsoft, recognized the need to adapt from a software giant to a cloud-computing leader. His embrace of open- source technologies and cloud services like Azure revitalized the company, proving that adaptability is key to survival in a fast-paced technological landscape. These adaptive technovators are not bound by traditional norms or practices. Instead, they challenge the status quo and push the boundaries of what's possible. They leverage emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, and the Internet of Things to reimagine business models, enhance customer experiences, and streamline operations. • 38. Orchestrating Transformation One of the defining characteristics of change-makers is their ability to inspire and empower others. They cultivate a culture of innovation within their organizations, encouraging creativity, experimentation, and collaboration. By fostering an environment where new ideas are welcomed and failure is seen as a learning opportunity, change-makers empower their teams to think outside the box and explore new possibilities. Adaptive technovators are more than just nimble leaders; they are orchestrators of transformation. They understand the human aspect of change and possess the skills to guide their teams through periods of disruption. Effective communication, a culture of experimentation, and a willingness to empower employees are all crucial tools in their arsenal. Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Meta (formerly Facebook), exemplifies this leadership style. She championed initiatives like "Move Fast and Break Things," encouraging calculated risk-taking and fostering a culture of innovation within the company. This adaptability allowed Facebook to evolve from a social media platform to a social commerce giant. Leading with Foresight Furthermore, change-makers are adept at navigating complexity and uncertainty. They understand that technological disruption brings both challenges and opportunities, and they are not afraid to take calculated risks in pursuit of innovation. They embrace ambiguity and leverage their problem-solving skills to find creative solutions to complex problems. While agility is paramount, adaptive technovators don't operate solely in the present. They possess a keen eye for the future, constantly scanning the horizon for the next wave of technological disruption. This foresight allows them to make strategic investments and develop long-term plans that position their companies for continued success. Elon Musk, a prime example, isn't just disrupting the electric vehicle industry with Tesla; he's also pushing the boundaries of space exploration with SpaceX. His vision for a multi-planetary future may seem audacious, but his ability to anticipate and prepare for technological advancements keeps him at the forefront of change. The Disruption Dividend The ability to adapt and innovate isn't just a recipe for individual success; it's a driver of progress for entire industries. Adaptive technovators, by embracing disruption, create opportunities for new products, services, and business models. This, in turn, fosters competition, drives down costs, and ultimately benefits consumers. In addition to driving internal innovation, change-makers also play a crucial role in shaping industry trends and standards. They actively engage with stakeholders, collaborate with industry partners, and participate in industry forums to share insights and best practices. By leading by example and advocating for technological advancement, change-makers help shape the future of their industries. The rise of the sharing economy, pioneered by companies like Uber and Airbnb, is a testament to this. These companies, led by adaptive technovators, leveraged technological advancements to disrupt traditional industries and create entirely new ecosystems, fundamentally changing the way we travel and find accommodation. Navigating the Unknown The future remains unwritten, but one thing is certain: change is inevitable. In this ever-evolving landscape, adaptive technovators will continue to play a pivotal role. Their agility, foresight, and ability to lead through disruption will shape the industries of tomorrow and define the course of human progress. As we step into the unknown, it's these change-makers who will illuminate the path forward. 36 | www.ciolookindia.com March, 2024

  • 41. Being a Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at , Ravi leads the development and Insurance Samadhan implementation of India’s first Technical Insurance Redressal Platform. With a strong technical background and visionary approach, he has been creating efficient solutions, understanding user behaviour and adding value to customers. This Pundit of technology, an Engineer, entrepreneur, Shark Tank participant, and public speaker, has shared his journey in an exclusive interview with CIOLook India. Here are the snippets: Insurance Samadhan has emerged as India’s leading company in its niche. Could you share the guiding philosophy that has propelled your organization’s success? From day one, the philosophy of Insurance Samadhan has been to put the customer first. Every decision we have made, whether big or small, has been made with an eye on our customers. If that decision adds any value to the customer, we execute. The customer is the most important stakeholder of the business, and it should remain the same however big you grow. You build a solution, and the endeavour should always be to optimize for user experience. The industrial landscape is continually evolving. Please brief our audience about your firm’s USPs and how you are currently positioned as one of the best transformational companies in its sector. Insurance Samadhan is India’s first technical platform for resolving Insurance grievances. We are a category creator business. We are proud to share that from being no reference point in this domain, Insurance Samadhan is now considered the reference point in the insurance resolution industry. Along with the above, our USP is that we don’t sell any insurance or financial products in any form. We are a successful fee-based platform that only charges people once we have resolved their insurance grievances. Your influential leadership style is often recognized as a driving force behind Insurance Samadhan’s achievements. Could you shed light on your approach to leadership and team building within the organization? Leadership style is pretty simple. You have to know your team beyond the professionals they are. We have always believed in a lean team philosophy, so it has been easy to forge bonds with people. I am a big Dhoni fan, so I follow his open-door policy. My team can access me for anything and everything they want to discuss. Good and smart people always look forward to opportunities to grow. So, if you must keep providing them with challenges, which is a given in our case, as we are dealing with a problem with no reference point, it becomes easier for you to lead people. The essence of technology lies in innovation, disruptions, and enhancing the end-user experience. How does Insurance Samadhan strike a balance between operational efficiency and customer satisfaction? Customers are the most important stakeholders, but sometimes, they don’t know what they want or can’t articulate it. You have to be able to filter out the noise from the feedback and then act on the same. If there has to be a call between operational efficiency and customer satisfaction—it has to be customer satisfaction every single time. You must play the long-term game and keep optimizing for operational efficiency. It isn’t easy, but if you have to take a hit to your operational efficiency metric today to enhance long-term customer satisfaction, you should do it. At Insurance Samadhan, we have had a tech-first approach from day one, which has been the single biggest reason for us scaling with our small team. 39 | www.ciolookindia.com March, 2024
  • 42. What would you advise other budding entrepreneurs aspiring to venture into tech? Build for the customer. Use tech to solve for customer experience. Don’t be afraid to iterate multiple times. Don’t wait to make the perfect solution; ship as fast and as often as possible. The real test of the product is the market. Find a specific niche or problem you are passionate about and have a market need. Focusing on a niche allows you to effectively stand out and address a particular segment. Build a strong professional network within the tech industry. Seek mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs who can provide guidance based on their successes and failures. Looking to 2024, what is your vision for Insurance Samadhan? How do you aspire to continue significantly impacting India’s transformational, tech-powered, innovative future landscape? Our vision for the company is to be the most trusted tech platform for enhancing faith in the insurance ecosystem. We strive to demystify insurance through technology, making it easier for individuals to understand policies, coverages, and claims processes. By fostering transparency and accessibility, we aim to empower individuals to make informed decisions about their insurance needs. We will keep working towards the same. Digitalization and technological advancements are crucial aspects of the modern industrial ecosystem. How does your company integrate these principles into its core functioning and contribute to a technovative future? At Insurance Samadhan, we have had a tech-first approach from day one, which has been the biggest reason for us scaling with our small team. Our headcount since our Shark Tank Episode was aired has only doubled, but we have grown close to 8x in our top line of business. Our latest offering, KYP (Know your policy), which has become the talk of the town, is again a revolutionary product uniquely global in nature. You just upload your insurance policy doc in our app, which dissects your policy and presents it to you in the most simplified manner. We are solving the painful issue of a common person getting to understand his insurance policy, and if there are any issues with it, we assist in solving that also. The workforce is the cornerstone of any successful organization. How does Insurance Samadhan foster a culture of growth, skill development and empowerment among its employees? We are proud of the team we have built at Insurance Samadhan. When we started, we had to pick freshers and train them as we had no industry reference to pick the workforce from. We were doing a unique service for which we had to make our processes. This led to an open field whereby everyone had an equal opportunity for growth. We constantly motivate people to do skill-based courses and have also posted some of our success stories on social media forums. The philosophy is simple: a growing team will build a growing organisation. As a leader in India’s industrial sector, your company has likely faced its share of challenges. Could you share an instance where your team’s resilience and ingenuity triumphed over adversity? When we started, we were actually a bit sceptical of how the insurance industry would react to such a platform, but to our amazement, the industry has been supportive. Businesses are a way for the Indian industry to accelerate its economic potential and capacity. 40 | www.ciolookindia.com March, 2024
