This workshop will be broken down into two main areas. Theory and hands-on. During the theory part, you will learn the importance of performance testing, the difference between frontend and backend performance, load tests and performance tests in general, and an overview of the load testing process.
During the hands-on part, you will learn about k6, a tool that provides the best developer experience in performance testing. Since this is a hands-on workshop, it’s recommended to have k6 installed on your machines. For Mac users, it is recommended to get the latest version of Homebrew.

Most people still see performance testing as a single experiment, run against a completely assembled, code-frozen, production-resourced system, with the "accuracy" of simulation and environment considered critical to the value of the data the test provides.
But what can we do to provide actionable and timely information about performance and reliability when the software is not complete, when the system is not yet assembled, or when the software will be deployed in more than one environment?
Eric deconstructs “realism” in performance simulation, talks about performance testing more cheaply to test more often, and suggest strategies and techniques to get there. Old school performance testing tools like Apache JMeter are complex and heavy and are not well aligned with the modern QA automation and continuous integration trends.
In this talk Svetlin presents and demonstrates the "k6 framework" - a modern open-source load testing tool, which describes the load tests as JavaScript code. The k6 tool is very powerful, high-performance and developer-friendly. It allows load testing of Web apps and APIs, accessed through the HTTP protocol.

Committing changes to the wrong branch, forgetting files, misspelling the commit message, and needing to undo commits are some of the “advanced” features of Git that we normal people run into way too often and need help with. The fixes are often easy – once you know what they are. But in the heat of the moment, with the deadline (or Friday afternoon) approaching, it isn’t always easy to figure out what magic spell to cast to get Git to do what you need.
We’ll spend some time looking at typical Git situations people get themselves into, and then we’ll demonstrate how to get out of them. This isn’t about Git internals or a Git master’s class – this real-world Git when things aren’t going right. And there will be plenty of time for questions, so bring your “best” Git nightmare scenarios so we can figure out how to recover.
