After Justin Timberlake was arrested for driving while intoxicated Monday night in Sag Harbor, sources told multiple outlets that his wife, Jessica Biel, was, in so many words, pissed about the whole ordeal. The 42-year-old, who’s been married to Timberlake for 14 years, had been busy filming the Amazon Prime thriller series The Better Sister in New York while her husband was concert-hopping on his “world tour.” Hours before the arrest took place, People reports that Biel was spotted filming with co-star Elizabeth Banks in Central Park. Come Tuesday morning, when news of the arrest began to make the rounds, the actress was back on set despite “looking tired,” per HuffPost. Don’t let the professionalism fool you, though: Several insiders told Us Weekly Thursday that Biel is “extremely upset.”
“She was shocked to hear the news and had no idea as she was working,” the source said. “She was really worried about him.”
Another source told People that the arrest was a “distraction” for Biel, adding that “she’s not happy” with Timberlake. Biel’s part in The Better Sister is also her first television role since Candy in 2022, in which she played an ax murderer, so you can imagine why she may have wanted this project to go over smoothly. You know, without any DWIs from her famous former boy-band-member husband.
“She had to film yesterday. She doesn’t like any attention on the family, especially not negative,” the individual said, noting that, however begrudgingly, Biel “will always be by his side.”
According to “Page Six,” Timberlake has been chauffeured back to New York, but it’s unclear whether he’s reunited with his wife since the incident. If not, I’m sure some stern words and a banishing to the couch await him.
