Atlanta micro gets account in Germany.

The Black Bear Brewing Co. of Atlanta, GA, will provide its beer for an October beer tasting at the Deutsches Weintour restaurant in Schweigen, Germany.

The restaurant in a popular attraction in the Rheinplatz wine region of Southeast Germany, and it is not uncommon for 5,000 to 10,000 people a day to visit the restaurant.

"Europeans are starting to hear about the American microbreweries and we wanted to be one of the first venues in our country to make the microbrewery beer available," said Wolfgang Schneider, operator of the Deutsches Weintour. "We selected Black Bear Brewing because their ales are the best I have tasted."

Paul Brown, president of Black Bear, said that his company was honored to have been selected for the tasting at the Weintour.

"Germany has a wonderful brewing tradition and it is exciting to be one of the first American microbrews to be made available in the country," he said. "We will use this event to introduce our brewery and our products to Germany and to evaluate what the German market for our products might be."
