Light work highlights the tallest city building.

WALES' tallest building has always been unmissable in the daytime - and now you can see it at night too.

BT Stadium House in Cardiff is illuminated in the dark thanks to powerful beams at the top of the building.

A pounds 5.1m restoration programme has transformed the tower from a shabby concrete block dwarfed by the Millennium Stadium into a sleek black and silver beacon.

And now visitors and residents will be able to admire it night and day as the lights make it one of the brightest points in the city's night skyline.

The BT skyscraper, built in 1974, was for years the tallest building in Wales, but that changed with the construction of the Millennium Stadium in 1999.

But the restoration project, including a new mast at the top of the carousel, takes the tower's height to 120 metres - above the four masts of the Millennium Stadium.
