Magnificent turnout for Gareth's event.
WALES rugby legend Gareth Edwards kicked off his most successful Magnificent Sevens tournament yet at the weekend. The day-long festival of rugby saw 16 teams from all over South Wales compete for the prized Magnificent Sevens trophy.The event, staged at the Cardiff High School Old Boys' ground in Whitchurch on Saturday, attracted almost 1,000 people.
And in the final Giovanni's restaurant beat Torex computer company to be presented with the shield by former Wales captain and British Lion Gareth.
The plate final was won by the Taff Terriers, who beat Cogent Defence and Security Network. The event was held in aid of the Cardiff Institute for the Blind and RNIB Cymru.
Gareth said: ``Just for a change the weather was kind to us and we had a big crowd and a very successful day's rugby. I would like to thank everyone who played and turned out to watch for helping to raise a lot of money for two good causes.''
