Hockmeyer Equipment Corporation has appointed Danny Thomas as president and chief operating officer (COO). Thomas' career spans more than three decades in production, supply chain management, and operations. He has been with Hockmeyer for seven years, serving in various roles as an operations executive. He holds an MBA from Campbell University.

Nippon Paint Marine has announced the appointment of Gladys Goh as president. She joined Nippon Paint Malaysia in 2006 and led the brand to become Malaysia's top coatings provider and subsequently led expansion into new markets. Goh concurrently serves as senior vice president, Strategic Innovation and Marketing at NIPSEA Group.

X-Rite Incorporated has appointed Jeff McKee as president. McKee, who was previously chief financial officer, will lead the company into the future of digital color management, automation, and 3D visualization.

During his time at X-Rite, McKee has overseen the finance, information technologies, and global services businesses, including inside sales, order entry, product management, and service centers. The company says he has played a pivotal role in facilitating the company's M&A strategy through several strategic acquisitions.

Nouryon has announced the appointment of Sean Lannon as the company's executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). The company says Lannon will have executive oversight of the company's finance function and will play a role in shaping Nouryon's financial strategy.

Lannon joins the company from Copeland where he served as CFO. Prior to Copeland, Lannon held several senior positions in finance at Axalta Coating Systems. Prior to his tenure at Axalta, he served in various senior finance roles at Styron LLC (Trinseo), Endo Pharmaceuticals, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Lannon is a certified public accountant in Pennsylvania and holds a B.S. in accounting from Philadelphia University.

PPG has named Lyndee Brassieur vice president, environment, health and safety (EHS). Brassieur succeeds Mark Concilia, who retired from PPG.

PPG says Brassieur will be responsible for the EHS and product stewardship organizations, as well as global initiatives focusing on employee safety, incident prevention, regulatory compliance, environmental performance. She will work in close partnership with leaders from across the company to define EHS policies, develop a corporate strategy around health and safety.

Brassieur holds a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering with a concentration in environmental science from McNeese State University and is a Six Sigma Lean Black Belt.

Lubrizol has announced Sander van Donk as the vice president, Europe, in addition to his role as vice president, Lubrizol Additives, Europe. Prior to his time at Lubrizol, van Donk held positions at Sulzer, Neste, and Honeywell. He holds a Ph.D. in industrial catalysis from Utrecht University

Lubrizol has also announced the appointment of Bhavana Bindra as managing director, India, Middle East, and Africa (IMEA). The company says the newly created role will support Lubrizol's aggressive growth goals and ongoing commitment to the region. Bhavana will be responsible for leading the company's IMEA team to deliver regional growth for Lubrizol and its customers, based on a local-for-local approach.

Bindra has more than two decades of experience in the manufacturing including positions at REHAU and Cummins India.

ASTM International has appointed Andrew G. Kireta Jr. as the organization's new president, effective May 1. He will succeed Katharine Morgan, who has served in the role since 2017 and will retire after a distinguished 40-year career with ASTM, one of the oldest and largest standards organizations in the world.

The organization says Kireta's background in standards development and familiarity with the organization uniquely positions him to lead ASTM International into future growth and innovation. In his most recent role, Kireta served as president and CEO of the Copper Development Association, a not-for-profit trade association. He joined the association in 1992 and spent the past two decades in an executive management capacity.

Kireta has been an ASTM International member since 1998. He joined the board of directors in 2014, serving as chair of the audit and finance committee in 2017, vice chair in 2018 and 2019, and chair of the board in 2020. Kireta also previously served as vice chair and chair of the board of SEI International, an ASTM affiliate.

Sheboygan Paint Company has announced that Josh Land has been promoted to Research & Technology Development group leader, a role in which he will lead the R&D team in developing coatings solutions in the company's Cedartown, GA, laboratory.

During his two-year tenure at Sheboygan Paint Company, Land has launched a fully commercialized product, established a partnership with Berry College to access on-campus lab technology and analytical tools, and added internal analytical tools for improved quality control of raw materials and faster development of new products.

Land holds a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Berry College and earned a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Sheboygan Paint Company has also announced that Zach Blackwell has joined the company as regional sales manager, Northeast. Noting his background in industrial coatings sales, the company says Blackwell will be responsible for driving sales growth, building client relationships, and managing key accounts. In his previous position at Sherwin-Williams, Blackwell received the Leaders' Cub Award for outstanding sales results. He holds a bachelor's degree from North Carolina A&T State University.

Evonik has appointed Max Preisenberger as head of the catalysts business line. Preisenberger takes over from Sanjeev Taneja, who has retired.

Preisenberger's career at Evonik began in 2000. During his time with the company, he has held positions in marketing, controlling and R&D, and applied technology. In his new role, Preisenberger will oversee Evonik's catalysts and adsorbents business line and be responsible for driving strategy and business development.

Preisenberger holds a doctorate in chemistry from the Technical University of Munich.

Peter Cuneo has been appointed chairman of the board of directors at OCSiAl, a company specializing in the industrial synthesis of graphene nanotubes. Cuneo's career includes president and CEO of Marvel Entertainment, Remington Products, president of Black & Decker's security hardware group, and president of Bristol Myers Squibb pharmaceuticals group in Canada.

OCSiAl says Cuneo brings to the role strategic leadership experience and a proven track record of investment in many industries.

The Executive Leadership Council (ELC), an independent non-profit organization, has selected Jason McAlpine, senior vice president of BASF's performance materials business in North America, to join its 2024 class.

The ELC is a global organization of more than 800 current and former Black CEOs, corporate board members, senior executives of Fortune 1000 and Global 500 companies, entrepreneurs at top-tier firms, and industry thought leaders. The ELC says its mission is to increase the number of successful Black executives by adding value to their development, leadership, and philanthropic endeavors through the life cycle of their careers, thereby strengthening their companies, organizations, and communities.

In his current role at BASF, McAlpine is the executive sponsor for the Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI), a member of BASF's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council, and serves on the board of visitors at Wayne State University's College of Engineering.

The Metro New York Printing Ink Association (MNYPIA) has named David Biro as president. Biro replaces Dan Shevkun, who has retired from Superior Printing Ink.

Biro is currently the director of narrow web and sheet fed technology at Sun Chemical in Carlstadt, NJ. His experience extends from graphic arts, coatings, UV/EB inks, coatings and adhesives, hygiene, and preservation solutions, including formulations for the paint, coatings, and protection markets. The technologies are used in plastics, metal working, inks, coatings, adhesives, wood protection, corrosion inhibition, and surfactant chemistry.

Biro is active in ACS, ASTM, RadTech NA International, TAGA, and NAPIM/NPIRI.

Frank Richter has been elected as chairman of the ALTANA supervisory board. Richter, who serves as managing director of SKion GmbH, takes over from Matthias L Wolfgruber, the former chairman of the management board of ALTANA.

Ruud Joosten, CEO of the executive board of Royal BAM Group since 2020, has been elected to ALTANA's supervisory board. Meanwhile, Ulrich Gajewiak and Susanne Klatten continue in their roles as deputy chairpersons of the Supervisory Board.

Jaska de Bakker, Ute Wolf, and Wouter Kolk will be nominated for appointment to AkzoNobel's supervisory board, while Byron Grote--who currently serves as deputy chair and chair of the audit committee--will be nominated for a fourth term of one year. The appointments and re-appointment were put to shareholders for approval at the annual general meeting held April 25.

De Bakker has experience in strategy, governance, and ESG. Currently a board member at various companies, she was previously CFO at Royal FrieslandCampina and Royal HaskoningDHV.

Wolf has more than 25 years of experience in financial management and corporate planning. She served as CFO of Evonik Industries AG for 10 years, and prior to that, held several senior positions within various industries and companies.

Kolk is currently CEO of Ahold Delhaize Europe and Indonesia. He has more than 32 years of experience in commercial, operational, supply chain, strategic, and general management roles.

Subject to the approval of his re-appointment, Grote will lead the supervision of the external auditor selection process, whereby the external audit firm of AkzoNobel will be replaced, starting with the audit of the 2026 financial statements.

Coval Technologies has announced the appointment of Kip Tindell as a new regional sales manager. Coval says Tindell will build new customer relationships and enhance existing client management in the south-central region of the United States. Tindell's experience in sales, flooring systems, and customer service covers a broad range of responsibilities, including supervising 40-60 individuals and overseeing operations for $10 million annual revenue in his division.
