Toronto micro begins marketing blitz.

Hart Breweries Ltd., a new microbrewery in eastern Ontario, recently began a marketing blitz for its Hart Amber Ale in the Toronto area in an effort to increase consumer awareness.

"Toronto is a sophisticated beer-drinking market that is receptive to microbreweries and the concept of healthy beer with no additives or preservatives," reported brewery president Lorne Hart. "Our Hart Amber Ale is a pure and fresh beer brewed especially for a world-class market like Toronto."

Hart Breweries began selling Amber Ale in November 1991 from its brewery in Carleton Place, Ontario. The brand is sold in both bottles and kegs to Brewers Retail stores as well as pubs, restaurants and bars in Toronto, Kingston, the Seaway and Ottawa Valley.

According to Konrad Ejbich, a reporter for Toronto's Eye Magazine, the brew "has a superb coppery color and a dense whipped-cream head -- a delicate fruity nose and rich velvety smooth texture followed by a smooth, well-balanced finish."

"The popularity of our ale has been so overwhelming, that we will have to increase our brewing capacity just to keep up with demand," Hart explained.
