Anthony Eskinazi was in his fourth week of the graduate scheme at Deloitte, the accountancy firm, when he hit send on a press release that would change his life.

In his spare time, he had been working on a start-up called Park At My House, which matched drivers looking for parking with property owners offering a space on their driveways. Having set up a version of the website, he issued the press release in September 2006, to see what the reaction would be.

The response was almost instantaneous. Eskinazi was sitting in a training session later that day with his BlackBerry buzzing in his pocket as journalists called, wanting to know more.
