Donald Trump has been attending a courthouse in Manhattan for his first criminal trial, in which he is accused of falsifying business records to conceal the payment of hush money to the porn actress Stormy Daniels, to cover up their alleged affair.

The former president faces 34 charges, which were revealed a year ago in the first of what has since become four criminal indictments filed against him.
