i think i really dislike the way people describe stories with tropes, especially with books, because it kind of spoils the character progression and i just want to know the hook and exeprience whatever the creator tried to explore with their story at my own pace :( i think thats the real reason i dont read as much anymore, the sense of wonder isnt there and i love to wonder
#like sure i like certain tropes but i like it to happen naturally and only think about it in hindsight#when its forced i feel so strange like they didnt care for the characters they just wanted to do throw something as quick as possible#like mob pyscho has bad guys becoming allies trope but its not simply about that theyre people who changed for different reasons
watching people react to kendrick's music and start moving and even just their facial reactions but especially WHEN THEY LEAN IN as if to hear him better as if he's in the room telling the group something was cool to see
i saw this video of this person was being dismissive to a group's concerns by ignoring what was being said and asking "where are your parents?" and "where are the school authorities?" and it sounded like she was belittling them (especially when most of them were adults but even if they weren't :/ you could still be considerate) but someone made a good point that they were trying to re-create vertical relationships to hold them to an authority but what the group had was a horizontal structure, they already respect each other and they were already trying to help each other and already agreed to certain terms, so it was strange to see how their existence made that individual so uncomfortable they wanted to break it apart immediately

pet peeve rn is people saying to an 18 year old " youre an adult now" and proceed to not help them. maybe its semantics but the tone bothers me because its not that youre literally suddenly an adult, its just that when youre 18 you START to bear the responsibilities an adult so of course they might need help wtf
