trying to learn how other countries education systems work is confusing because there's a million words you both use super differently (see "gymnasium" or "college") but it also really makes you acknowledge just how many other countries have English as their like mandatory second language class.
i don't feel like enough anglophones really recognise the fact that like....you learn french or japanese in school to be interesting and travel while people learn English in school because it helps them get a job because of how English dominated the world is.
I always felt loved. It didn't matter what was going on, or if I was in trouble or whatever. I knew she was listening. And she knew I was listening too. She was sick. And even though she couldn't speak, it almost felt sometimes like that communication was better. Like, we really had to pay attention to each other. And look really closely at each other.
