For more than five decades, the people of The United Methodist Church have made a significant impact in the world in Jesus Christ’s name through a diverse array of ministries, missions, and social outreach. With a focus on overcoming poverty, promoting health and wholeness for all, leading where God calls, and making new disciples in new places, The United Methodist Church established thirteen international agencies to bear witness to God’s love, mercy, and grace.

One of these thirteen agencies is Discipleship Ministries. Established by the 1972 United Methodist General Conference, Discipleship Ministries is tasked with challenging, equipping, and supporting local church and annual conference leaders in their mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Discipleship Ministries provides written and audiovisual resources, workshops, seminars, and symposiums to support the work of Christian leaders and congregations around Christian education, worship and music, evangelism, new church development, stewardship, funding and financial management, lay leadership development, age-level (children, youth, adult) and family ministries, small-group ministries, ethnic local church concerns, devotional life, spiritual formation, and other areas related to the lives of people and the ministries of congregations.

Invest in Discipleship Ministries to equip church and ministry leaders for their vital mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
